how did all you guys and gals learn to go inverted?
was it basically just practicing like hell?
cuz ive heard some people can practice on trampolines, but i was just wondering what the usual way to learn is
fine, but if i die, im totally gonna kick your ass - me after being dared to jump off my friends house into his pool
you quote yourself in your sig, haha.
it's all about the tramp, water ramp, etc. or just hucking yourself.
i'd suggest training.
i wont drop out of high school for skiing, mom
if you want just find sum powder and a good lip
since brody mentioned water ramps ill throw this out here..
those of you who have been at camps in the past and hit the ramps.. do you have some kind of wetsuit thing that makes the water not hurt when you impact? I've seen lots of people doing them (on videos) and i'd assume it isnt painful. But, i know that jumping from high up and not landing pretty vertical (pencil) it can really hurt. basically, do you have special wetsuits?
the only reason i wear a wet suit is if it is really cold....for the most part it doesnt hurt too much cuz you wear a helmet and a life jacket...i have landed all different ways and it never hurt too much.
i learned my fist backflip iona tramp by doing them and just landing on my stomach. Then i learned to ganer on 10 foot high diving boards and then took it to skiing. DONT BE A WOOSY JUST GO FOR IT I DID
water ramps at whistler are sweet but otherones without bubbles are really REALLY painfull somtimes
on water ramps if you land at least somewhat on your feet your skis will break the surface tension so it doesnt hurt, but if you land totally on your side or head or something it hurts like hell
Dont get gloves though, gloves are out. just use a cigarette to keep your hands warm.
build a jump with a gnarly lip, lean back throw it back real hard, stay comitted and yer there, off a good jump with a gnarly lip a backflip is way easier than on the tramp
rock out witcha cock out
here's my quote for it.
'You just gotta say fuck it, then huck it, and don't forget to tuck it'
Trampoleans help, Water ramps help, swimming pools help, but when it comes down to it.. you gotta get out there, push yourself and just go for it.
Eat. Sleep. Breathe. Ski.
GhostDragon is 100% right. When it comes to learning you need a nice steep launcher, a nice steep landing on the other side and then it's easier to do a back than it is to come straight again. It's all about commitment, you have to be fully there in your mind and you have to be totally commited to doing it or you're gonna fuck yourself. Just hit the jump, boost off it leaning way back, tuck it up, spot the landing straight away and bring the landing gear down, wikkid, now rip off your shirt, point a pole at all the screaming ladies who want a piece and yell 'WHO WANTS SOME!!!'

haha so they are painful, but fun so people still do them. Thanks for answering the questions.. About whistler and the bubbles, how much does that help the impact (pain) of say landing on your back or something.. Im sure a life jacket helps a lot too.
if you go to the ramps at placid they have the air bubbles which breaks the surface...you can land flat on your face and sitll don't hurt to bad. Its a nice frothy concoction of air and water thats as soft as you 80 year old grammas ass.
I had sunny side up und I had sunny side down, und I had sunny all sie vay around! - Rudi Garmisch-hot dog the movie
^^^if that is the most painful thing you have ever done you are one lucky bastard
I under rotated a double back off a 25 foot cliff into water and landed right on my stomach/face and my face was a normal color after a couple of hours
but it can really hurt if you go High enough
