Not Skiing Today

My hill was supposed to open today, but it's cold and there is a windchill so they aren't opening until next weekend.  I was pumped to go today, but now I'm pissed.

Me neither. My hill was supposed to open today too, except all the snow melted. Now it prob won't be open until the 20th and I really wanna ski.

why the hell would a ski area close because its cold, maybe if it was super windy but not if it was extremely cold

there is currently a foot of snow in my front yard and i can't do shit cuz my transmission on my car just went out at the gas station on the way to ski his morning.. talk about shitty luck..

It's -25 and -40 with the windchill.  I was still pumped to go.  It's supposed to be like this all week so I guess I've got to wait another week.

grab a board and use ur car as a drop in, that sucks tho i would be too pissed to even want to ski i dont get a place closing because its too cold, i remember a few years ago skiing when it was -31 celcius, the place was so empty and the snow was perfect, just had to keep all my skin covered and i was fine, maybe they thought nobody would show up

Yeah.  I've skied when it's been that cold before.  I live in Saskatchewan and it's always cold and windy.  Just cover up and you're fine.

just be happy that you get to go regularly. i live in freaking queensland, australia....where we've never had snow. i have to travel for a couple of days to get anywhere near the stuff and thats for maybe a week at a time.

Though i am heading out to niseko, japan in february should be quiet nice.

My hill does so they don't get sued by frostbitten, jeans-wearing gapers when it's -30 plus windchill out.  You'd think that people from the upper Midwest would realize that being outside in jeans in that kind of weather is a death wish, but somehow skiing makes people stupid and not think about how they dress or something.

Oh and my hill is closed today due to a blizzard warning (can't run the chairs) and tomorrow due to windchill in the -40 range and a continued blizzard warning.

dude i got it even worse

all my friends are out skiing and have been the last 3 weeks, n im fuckin grounded for a gay ass alcohol citation

dont get to ski till christmas break.

and the weekends are soo boring i actually look forward to school.

and i got brand new 09 troubles w/ matching px12s just sitting in my room doing nothing.

it sucks so bad

its soo cold now. -25 celsius at kicking horse. then you add the wind chill, its just not worth it. even though its opening weekend and the snow is the best right now

Our vans couldn't get up the mountain today and probably won't get up tomorrow with huge snowfalls, almost a metre snow overnight going to be an epic powder day. But me and two mates made a quarter pipe in our backyard and hit that. SO wasn't such as waste.
