I cant ski for 1+ month.....I NEED ADVICE + KARMA

Ok so i bought a pair of salomon spk kaos boots approximately 35 days ago. i've been riding 3 times with them, and all 3 times its has been hell for my feet. first time, i let it slip because i need to wear them in, second time i prayed it wouldnt happen again, and now after the third time......i have "black toe". for those of you who dont know what that is. my large toe and toe nail, is serverly bruised. and now has become infected, and my toe nail is momentarily going to fall off. heres a link to give you guys an idea what black toe looks, and is. http://www.positivehealthsteps.com/natural/blacktoenail.shtml  BUT MINE looks alot worse....and hurts alot. so now its just really black, almost green.....infected, and really painful. with my toe nail is basically waiting to fall off.

now heres where i need advice.....

when i got my boot "fitted", they gave me a size 27......which i question that it might of been too small? when i tried it on, i told they guy they were really tight, but he said it will have to break in. so thats why i did worry the first time and second time that much....the past 3 shoes i've had have been sized at 10.5, 10.5 and 11.....and they fit just right.....now according to this chart http://www.roamshop.com/gear-info_comments.php?id=51_0_8_0_C  i should have been fit with a 28.5 or even 29. now im really pissed of sitting here, with alot of snow falling in my region, and i've research that it will take a month plus for it infection to fully heal, and 6 month for the toe nail to grow back.........that means this season will either be a reallly fucking painful one, and basically full of my feet getting re-injured.

so i think they fitted me with way to small of a boot. i asked the guy to give me a higher size, and he said no no, that will be fine, once your break them in......yes i wore them around my house, yes i rode a couple times, and now my toes are fucked.....its like giving birth taking and putting my boots on and off....i fucking hate it? do you guys think i have a chance to get new boots? or whats your advice?

idunno if u have a chance to get new boots but man ive been threw the same thing. I didnt cut my nails properly, boot was to small and next thing u know black toenail. It jurt like a bitch then finaly fell off after like 4 months. I just get boots with wide toe boxes now. Try cutting your nails really short, like really short because it seems like uve done evrything u can like getting your boots fitted.

all 3 times i've gone riding, i cut them short. obviously not too short because that would also harm them....but short enough..........ok, but my main point here is that according to the boot fitting conversion.....10.5, and 11....should be a 28.5 and 29.....they gave me a 27......the guy mentioned that these were that last pair....i have a feelling he just wanted to selll them....

my toe looks like that, but doesnt hurt at all.. but its not infected or anything

and go back to the shop and complain.. show them your toes while your at it..

whats your shoe size

some one told me that the boot size for example 27.5 is added together to make your shoe size 9.5 so if you are not size 9 then u shouldent have a size 27 

im size 11.5 so my boot size is 29.5 (2+9.5=11.5)

this almost happened to me. i went to get fitted for boots and tried on a bunch of pairs and finally found a pair that fit well. the boot fitter fit me as a 26.5 even though the boots i used the year before were 27.5 and i told him that but he said no if i go any bigger it will cause problems. so i went home and put them on, wore them around the house and they felt terrible. so i was just like fuck it ill just use my old boots (they were making my feet badly numb last year, but i brought them in and they gave me custom footbeds and they feel better somehow?). i took they back and got cash back so was lucky for that, but youve already used yours and your toes are fucked so the only thing you could do is get them to punch your boots and just wrap your toes in bandaids or tape.

the store should be able to punch them for free because they gave you too small of boots.

I would go to that ski shop and bring the boots with you and talk to the manager, show him your toe, explain your problem.  Hopefully the manager will help you out and get you a proper fitting boot for free...

|When fitting boots, shoe size doesn't matter. It's what your foot size is. Like I wear a size 12-13 shoe, my foot is 11.5, and i wear 29's. So what is the size of your foot, not shoe, since most people wear their shoes big.

Also, a lot of the time people with bruised toes, and have their toes bashing the front of the boot think that the boots are too small. Actually, it's usually because of the boots being too big, which allows your feet to move around in your boots, and lets your feet slide forward and bash against the front of the boot. I don't know about your case though. I would have to take a peek at it in person.

Did the "bootfitter" ask you what size your feet are, or did he take a measurement?

What I would do is go back into the shop, and size your feet, and see if the boot matches your foot size.

i don't think that he would "just want to sell them" because if i were a salesman, i would sell you whatever you wanted, assuming he had a bigger size in stock. i recommend that you go back to the shop, bitch and moan a little, and ask for the proper size. then, well... you're kinda fucked still if you can't go skiing. so i can't really help you there unless you sue the shit out of 'em!!! jk

get a tighter fitting boot. the spk toe box is huge. I am a 10.5 shoe in a 26 spk and i still have to pack here and there to get them a little tighter.

you need to go in there and tell them everything you just told us.
show them your toe, talk to the manager and tell them you got fitted and did everything you were suppose to and this is what happens. i'm sure he would gladly swap out your boots for a PROPERLY fitted boot, not one by some snowboarder who thinks he can tell where your toe is through a ski boot shell.

things like small blisters, bruises, and cramps come from awkwardly sized boots that you are getting use to not black toe that apparently is now turning green.

as far as your lost month + of skiing goes, it's definitly a reason not to buy anything else from that shopp

If I were you i would punch the mother fucker in the face that told me my boot fit. you foot is not in the boot don't tell me if fits asshole. Just get a size up and you should be fine. I didn't get to ski for 2 years caz i was in college. Just watch a lot of ski videos and be on NS everyday just posting shit and keeping up with what's going on in skiing.

my bro was having like the worst "black finger" if you wanna call it. it swelled to like three times the volume and the awful part is this question: how long will it take to rebuild that toe-nail?

well you will see that your not getting a new one on xmas...

and comon, skiing is not as important as we all think. for example if you pull a season ender on the very first day, you cant just kill yourself. even if you could never be able to ski again. life goes on, especially for one month, bro
