I'm broken, need a new hobby for this winter

I had a real bad skateboarding fall on a stairset in the first week of october, shattering my lower leg, tri malleolar,ligament damage, and messin with my ankle joint... so ive had two surgeries on it and been in a wheel chair since it happened, and will be in the chair til january, then non weight bearing on crutches for a while, then lots of pt and rehab. So, my ski season is nonexistant, which is one of the worst things you could do to me, im an addict with pure love for the sport. I've come to terms with it now tho, there's just nothing I can do. Thus I ask of you, what the hell can I do besides play xbox all winter to keep me sane? When i can walk at the end of the season (hopefully) I wanna do a lot of photography and filming of friends to keep me close with skiing, but my head's clouded right now, I just can't think of anything else.

and if your suggestion is smoke mad weed... i smoke but will never be a daily smoker or anything like that

photography would be a great hobby to get into, until you can walk, look into getting a camera and get some books on photography and familiarize yourself with different adjustments and stuff. just find something that you will really like to do and can build on, you cant do much by the sounds of it so you might aswell find something, put alot of a focus into it, and build on it. oh forgot to mention weed.

oh, yeah good suggestion, get to know all the little ins and outs and cool little features of your camera equipment, and also whatever photo/video software you have. Reading is always a good one, watching movies, crocheting, drawing, idk if you could find a job you can do ina wheelchair, but you could make some $$ if you could get a job.

model rocketry...its not as bad as you think. It seems complicated and makes you look smart, and theres a chance shit will blow it.

you can build a decent rocket with cardboard, and some sort of tube. Hell, i even did a huge on a few years ago that was construction paper and it went up a few hundred feet. Then buy some of those estes rocket engines. And if you screw up and it blows up, you won't be mad cause they don't take long to build, are cheap, and you got to see something blow up

And a suggestion, the internet holds many other wonders besides NS, Facebook/Myspace etc. and porn (omg, really? Yes)  Pick a topic / hobby search it on google, and see where that takes you.  You will often get off topic and find something very interesting.  You can also do similar stuff of youtube, like just click one of the featured vids and keep clicking related vids that look interesting.  You end up so far away from what you started at.

go wikipedia-ing. Go onto any random wiki page, then just keep clicking stuff until it's spring, and you've gone from looking up ski companies to how ice cream is made. And along the way you learned about the Russian revolution, the lost astronauts of the soviet space program, and why Ramadan exists. And somwhere in there, you'll probably end up in the page for the 2003 x games or something.

When i was injured i got super into art, specifically oil painting. It takes alot of time which is what you have. Also, investing in a really tall bong is a good idea so that you can hit it while sitting in your wheelchair. The only problem is you need someone to light it. But just ask your mom or dad and im sure they'd be happy to help you out.

thats why you dont go heavy on time kill sports before ski season

i would just do alot of filming and editing, its fun and a great way to avoid the fact that your not able to ski with still being around the sport

get adobe illustrator(by any means possibe)--do tutorials (http://websitetips.com/graphics/illustrator/#draw or www.tutvid.com or google)-- create your own stuff with your newly learned skills.
i just got it and it's the best time waster i've ever had besides ns, and it's productive at the same time--art supplies are expensive but if you're crafty you can get illustrator for free pretty easily.

I was in a wheel chair a couple years ago for tearing my muscle away from hip; I was put in a wheel chair for a couple weeks and thought it would be cool to do wheelies in a wheel chair; i got pretty good then one time I went to far back and fell backwards.  Long story short I reinjured myself, added 4 weeks to the heeling process and the doctor took away the wheel chair and gave me crutches.
