well ok so it isnt actually my problem, but my bro's. but hes at college right now, (yes, hes back at syracuse). so he got rossi ghettos and bought a pair of fks 155's off of an unamed person on ns (i wont say his name).
so i went to the local ski shop to get our skis mounted, i got suspects with px12 jibs, his rossis with fks 155s. i went and picked em up today and the guy at the shop told me that one of the heels for the fkses are releasing too easily.
so i brought em home and tested em out. it was a struggle but i fit into my brother's boots, and tried to click in. all of the following goes for both skis
this is what they look like resting on the binding
so i pressed down, and im no FKexpert, but it didnt seem right. this is what they looked like
closer up:
then (outside), i tested the releasing early part. on each ski, i can eject it just using my leg, not putting all my bodyweight forward or anything. before it releases, it seems to get more horizontal, like this. my boot heel comes up a bit. i tried to do tipstands, and was able to do them successfully 4 out of 6 times. one time i double ejected, one time i single ejected. the other times i tipstanded and stood there for a couple seconds, no ejections. notice the difference from the resting still one.
when i clicked the binding without the boot, it looks like this
when i clicked the boot in, i can force it to be more vertical like the above pic.
compared to:
and again, im a huge noob when it comes to binders, but is this really supposed to happen? i turned the binding 180 just with one hand using not much strength at all
please help!!!! we need to ski the weekend after thanksgiving!!!
