Rail Accidents

Hey guys its R3dbullninja...

I have seen a lot of people talking about their accidents and ski mishaps, so I think it is only appropriate to create a thread for rail accidents only...

I will start it off by saying that this one time I was on this 40ft. battleship rail at Silver Mt. and I slipped and cracked a couple of ribs and put a nice red paint streak on my jacket... Ouch. Even with the injury, I competed that same day in a trick competition and won 1st... Thank you lord lol

last week i was trying to sw up on a flat down box and caught my right nose under the box as i was rotating and ended up riding the rest of the box on my balls, its a foot wide box so it gave my groin a good stretching and i hit my left knee somehow on the way down, and then as i was coming off, i put my arms up and my pole stuck into the ground and the handle went right into my collar bone, thankfully my pole broke before i did but i did end up with pretty colors on my knee and collar bone.

i fell off of a c rail on to my shoulder. It was a super icy day. I dislocated and completely tore my rotator cuff. My shoulder was twisted all weird. The worst though was when ski patrol had to "unravel" it so that they could put me in a stretcher...

i was tryin to do my first kink, on my first, own pair of skis, and i clipped the kink, did a side flip. slammed my face, and then slid down the hill...i screamed

8th grade fall rail jam. Went off tha take off, wigged out and never turned 90, grabbed my package to tuck and rolled. Missed my balls and hit tha inside of my leg. Landed about half way down it. Sick bruise.

Ohh, and one day two years ago we're all messin around in tha park and seein' who could hit tha flat box at the slowest speed, i made it 3/4 of tha way down and knew i wasn't gonna make it. so i just jumped back to goin' straight. So i landed straddling tha box which was totally ok because i was so much talller than the end of tha box. But my shin accidently clipped tha end of tha box. Which hurt, but not that bad at all. I was laughin, but my boot felt tight, so i went to tha shop and took it off. My shin was swollen so it looked like i had a calf on tha front of my leg too. Pics later. It looked awesome.

I helped a kid out who did the exact same thing on Mt hood this summer

AC seperation from falling on a 2kink, Staph infection form cutting my leg open on a rail, I also fell on a 2kink and could walk the rest of the day, but it felt fine the next.  and thats about it

i feel bad for that nutted one ^,  um ya so at PC last year the it was slippery and i fell on the rail and i thought i broke my left leg, luckily, it just really hurt,  on my cranmore edit you can see my skis get caught tryin to do a 270, and i flop back on my head.

Haha, strangely enough I did something like that in the past.

Riding a box like that is surprisingly hard on the groin / balls.

last year i was hitting a rainbow rail and i dint commit enough, ended up getting a huge gash in my knee from banging it on the rail just before i nutted on it.. it sucked and the rail was about 8 feet off the ground

i broke my back back in the day on xmas eve, i was going switch onto a rail before people even knew what switch was. took about a week and a half off of skiing.

rails scare the fuck out of me.

i stick to pipe and jumps for the most part. out of my 100 days skiied last year, maybe 10 of them i jibbed.  i would rather fall on snow than metal anyday.

I got a concussion at mammoth on 4/20 on a fucking flat box....AND I was wearing a helmet.  Looking back on what I can remember about the whole thing it seems pretty funny considering it was an easy box lol.

I broke a couple of ribs last spring - I belly flopped onto a rail after getting my tip caught on the front (bad pop).  Broken ribs suck - it hurts everytime you move or breathe.  Coughing almost made me pass out.

I slipped off a c-box at momentum and got 13 stitches in my knee after ramming it into a bolt
ive slid off rails and hit my head once or twice but i was wearing a helmet

Coming switch off an up rail, landed to far forward, ejected, face plant, cut my face up and got blood all over my white jacket. My only bad rail crash though was a front 450 out of an up box, overshot to flat and clapped my dome. Ended up getting a major concussion and ending my season a week early.

I was doin this 50ft gap onto a 250ft. flat-down-flat-down-flat-down-c-rail 450 on, 270 out and cought an egde on the 270 out, landed on my ass fairly hard.

This didn't happen to me but one of my friends was doin a flat bar and she fell and smacked her head on the rail cracked the helmet open and she now has this problem that if she gets cold the blood to her brain basically just shuts of and she cant talk barley move or anything its fuckin etch i dont no what its called

went for a switchup over a battleship at coc, caught my tips on the coping and faceplanted.  broken clavicle with 4cm separation.  now i have a sweet like half foot scar on it from surgery tho.

so i was trying a gap to down on a down flat down and i didnt quite turn the 90 all the way and i landed on the down part straddling the rail but thankfully it wasn't quite tall enough...I was about 3 inches away from smashing my balls
