Alright so i have the Dalbello rampage boots in a size 27. I have only used them about 10-15 times and my ankles just keep hurting. I think my feet are just too wide for the boot or maybe it may just be my ankles. Does anyone have the same problem with their rampages? Im looking into getting some SPK pro models but im really not sure how they fit compared to the rampage. Should i try to modify my rampages or just get new boots? thanks alot
there are solutions to this problem, minimal a heel lift or varus or vargus wedges, to reposition the foot. if the shell fit is tight which is possibly the case, the trufit liner isn't that great in a krypton boot if you have a boney medium size ankle. one easy solution slightly expensive tho is get the dalbello thermo gold id liners its a much denser foam, will improve fit throughout and not pack out in the ankle pocket, i have thermo ids in my rampages and il moros and highly recommend them. the other is girnd or reshape the shell. these are the possible solutions but you will have to see a good bootfitter to determine which one.
i think im going to try getting my boots heat fitted tommorow and see if that helps at all and if not, i will look more into the carving option. also, my dad mentioned that you can actually heat the shell of the boot up with a heat gun and make a wooden wedge where my pressure points are (my ankles) and heat the shell up and have it conform to the wedge so i might try that also.
