me + money problems + (x)gf problems + school problems + lack of motivation + dreams of doing something better in life = constant depression and stress. anyone else feel like life is fucking them over? this shit has been going on fo a while now and i cant deal with shit anymore. anyone ever tried st johns wart or other herbal depression meds or anything?

Yeah, I've had a lot of stress and shit for the last year. It can really ruin everything, cause it makes you bitchy like a little girl, then your friends hate you, and all that shit. And I've had a spot of grey hair on the back of my head since first grade. It's pretty cool, but people always think I got something in my hair, when it's actually my hair.

Money shouldn't really matter unless you're living in a box in an alley. Money stresses people out when they compare how much they have with someone else who has more (a lot more). Unless the girl has a gun to your head or your balls in a vice, you can pretty much just leave her on the sidelines. Unless, of course, you're trying to get her back. But if so, don't wallow.

Hey dude, don't smoke pot. It'll make u feel good for a while but it can actually lead to depression and anxiety in the long run. So, if u're already stressed it aint gunna be good for ya.
Try listening to some good music and really absorb urself in it. Doing that can be a pretty good form of meditation. Exercise is a good stress reliever too, so have a ski or go for a run (do whatever u like). When you're stressed your immune system becomes suppressed, which means u're more likely to pick up colds and stuff. ..so make sure u eat good healthy food too and try to sleep enough.
All stress passes sooner or later, so just try and manage it the best way u can for the time being.
I study psych, so know heaps about stress...if u want any more advice just give me a yell :)

i am going to get clowned hugely, but i dont care. i just went to a church retreat. when i left, i considered myself religious. i realize, that i was not nearly as religious as i thought. i feel so good no, after this weekend, its amazing. i literally feel like a new person. if you havent already done so, i advise that you try and find god. before i left i was messed up, and i pretty much hated life. i feel GOOD now. it hasnt been this way since like 6th grade. now at least i feel good, and im loving it. find god. thats all i can say

damn sounds like a bunch of us all have the same problems. I owe a bunch of money so i never ever have money of my own, i am going to court in a week and ill lose my liscense for ski season, plus lawyer fees and $800 ticket. I have to go again on nov. 25 for some other shit that will be a lot of $ too. I have got some girl troubles that are out of my hands and I have to live in WI which generally all around sucks.
What keeps me going is just think about what you can be doing a year or two from now. I just think about in two years or so ill hopefully be living somewhere with much better skiing and all these money and legal troubles will all be over and hopefully ill forget about this girl. Smoking tons of pot is helping me out too though

Dr.'s are all too prepared to prescribe meds these days.... I suggest you try and adjust your lifestyle first before taking pharmaceuticals. Smoking weed just makes me depressed in the mornings, great for relaxing and postponing depressing feelings though.... Just makes the mornings worse though, which I find the hardest part. It's easier to look at everything negatively as opposed to positively. You sort of have to kick your self in the ass, and get fired up.... Detective makes a good point about it. Get yourself out of this rut and throw down. You'll work your way out of the financial probs. Same with the chick problems. What is your family situation like? That has been the biggest crutch for me, the support from my Mom and Dad....

my familys really supportive. especially with the money problems. on top of university i owe about 5g and they managed to front me the money and told me not to let it worry me i can pay it back as i have the money. most of the stuff i have to deal with on my own though

plain and simple, stay away from drugs and alcohol, while they will make you feel invincible for a while, they will in fact make everything worse.

Take some time to yourself, don't concern yourself with a gf right now, take some times to find yourself and define who you actually are. If you can do this a new gf will find you.

Set small goals, and meet them. Even if you don't complete your goals on time, get them done. It will help to give you a sence of accomplishing something, just be realistic and don't set major long term goals.

As far as money goes, set up a plan to get out of debt (or any other money troubles) be realistic, and set up a long-term plan that you can stick to.

A good thing to keep in mind is something I was told the first time I hiked a mountain, in by inch you make it a sinch, yard by yard you make it hard. Take things in little steps and they will get better.

And most importantly, do not be affraid to ask for help from friends and family, the ones that truly matter will be there through thick and thin.

in addition to the meds, if you talk to someone - and there are usually lots of counseling and peer support staff at a university -it can also help (in addition to or in place of meds). If you want, I'll listen too.
