Whats the average you would spend on a gaming computer and would you rather buy it complete or build it yourself? I was looking at a 500gb hd with 4 gb ram and an nVidia 8600gt graphics card. Since the guy took the listing down since I said I would buy it (for $400) that is just what I can remember off the top of my head but what are your thoughts ns? Any solid companies that sell good gaming computers?

Building it yourself you can save so much money. And you can get exactly what you want. What's your budget though?
$1000 can get you a lot when it comes to gaming computers. If it were me, I would spend a lot of money on a graphics card, and less elsewhere. I'm really not up to date on recent hardware, but I heard the new ATI cards are insane. For a processor, 2 cores is really all you need for games. If you're looking to be set in the future, you might want to shoot for a quad core, but I don't think you'll need one. 500GB is more than enough for games, but the more space the better, right? If you're going to get 4GB of Ram, make sure you get a 64 bit OS if you want to utilize all of it. Make sure you get a good Power supply, seriously. If you get a shitty one, than theres a chance your entire system could be fried. It's happened to a few friends of mine. Sorry I'm not more helpful... K-Rob knows a shit load about computers so you could talk to him
i built mine with a little help of my friends and altogether it was like $600 or a little more than that and it's perfect for gaming. saves a lot of money
Through sacrificial love, by injecting love to light up the darkness, life can be lived in light of hope, be it a new colony or a new earth, a quieter earth, with the chance to do things right as a legacy to that sacrifice of love.
if u want a good gaming computer u should spend around 1000. my brother got one and he got to customize it too and i even make all my videos on it. i forget the website though, if u talk to me on aim sometime ill let u kno
What he said. I made my computer a year ago cost me 950 dollars and it has no problem at all running any game really. What id suggest is getting a video card with Direct X 10, that's gonna be your most expensive item. I wouldn't get more than 2gig of ram, I have two and its more than enough. As for processors, you really don't need quad core, so id suggest just a standard dual core processor, however if you have the cash feel free to upgrade. As the person I am quoting said, be sure to get a good power supply, don't mess around with that shit. And get a tight case of course.
O and buy ur shit off newegg
I've built a few gaming computers and I either buy from newegg, tigerdirect or ebay. I've saved alot of money doing it that way.
if you plan on running Vista, get at least 4GB RAM. any other OS, and 2GB should suit you just fine.
