Outside of the Dark Tower series, which are by far my favorite, I really like The Stand, and Insomnia. For all the flack he gets, I enjoy his books. I always feel like I need to defend my reading of his books...did I mention I read Cormac McCarthy, William S. Burroughs, and other challenging authors?
Cell is pretty dope, I've read it three times. It would make a really good movie too, imo.
"once i saw this old guy lean over to spit on the ground and he spat all over his shoulder" "that was fucking" - Malcolm
"K-Rob, you can fuck right the hell off." - Ski311 (he actually capitalized my name, that's pretty sweet)
"bwahahaha K-ROB and no i didnt caps lock i help shift i took effort to make you special hahaha" - Skiizy (also pretty sweet)
I feel stupid saying this, but Stephen King's The Boogieman actually scared the sit out of me. I've never really been afraid of Boogiemen, monsters in closet, etc but for about a solid month after reading his book my closet scared terrified me....
It's not a perfect series...several deus ex machina moments of implausibility, but by the time you reach them (if you're like me) you'll be so attached to the characters that it won't matter. If you're a fan of epics/fantasy/sci-fi/horror...I can't recommend them any more enthusiastically.
