you cant really have wheels that have the "option" of disc brakes, they either come made for disc brakes or not made for discs. If your jamis has the disc mounts already on it and you were considering discs in the future, a disc wheelset would be the best idea IMO, instead of buying a non-disc wheelset and then having tho buy two brand new hubs AND pay to re-spoke your wheels and setup the hubs. Mavic makes the Crossmax, which is usually between 400 and 500$ depending on the setup (crossmax SLR, SLR disc, or  SL), and theyre pretty beast.

so would i just be better off getting new wheels and upgrading to disc brakes while i'm at it?

Get some disc hubs (check out dmr, they're the best deal for hubs that last) laced up to machined rims (sun rhyno lites would be my suggestion).  Then you've got the option to run disc or rim brakes and a pretty durable wheelset for somewhat cheap.

not a bad idea for functionality, but the price on that setup would be pretty high.

if your looking into buying 2 new wheelsets and (most likely) mechanical disc brakes, your gonna be running up a large price tag

ya, thanks for the help, but i just had a buddy of mine tru them and they're pretty good

not really a dmr/ sun setup would probably $160 for front and rear hub and $50 for two rims.
