I just found this in the Wisconsin State Journal!
The never-ending race to be the biggest and the boldest tourist attraction in the Wisconsin Dells just got a new entrant.
The $57 million, 13-acre resort proposed by Joshua Schultz of dRMR Development of Lake Mills would be the "next generation of resorts, " Schultz said.
It would offer year-round skiing as well as indoor and outdoor waterparks, restaurants, a BMX/skateboard facility, retail stores, a spa, a convention center, an arcade and a condominium hotel.
Under the 120-foot-high ski hill would be the world 's largest indoor water slide, and an outdoor water park would have the world 's largest outdoor slide. The water park also will have several wave pools for surfing.
The project presented to the Wisconsin Dells Plan Commission this week is called the Wedge Adventure Resort and is planned for Grand Cambrian Drive off Highway 16 on the southeast side of the city.
The development group includes Dieter Sturm, who does special effects and snowmaking for movies, and Martin Greenberg, an expert in sports facility management. Sturm markets Snowflex, an artificial surface for ski hills and snowboarding that will be used at the resort in the Dells. Sturm provided the snow for scenes in "Public Enemies, " the Johnny Depp movie filmed in the area this year.
The resort estimates it will hire 258 full-time employees and 110 part-time workers.
