RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation) i roll my ankles all the time during baseball season. just ice the piss out of it, wrap it up in a thingy....whats it called...a wrap i guess, and put it up on a chair. stay off it for a while to. but if u did it last season (im guessing that was a while ago) it should be ok now, maybe u sprained it...
why do you need your ankle anyway? you dont use it with ski boots, infact i remember one time i jumped a flight of stairs and sprained my ankle so bad i couldnt walk on it. after working my foot into the boot (which was quite painful)my ankle was fine. the boot acts like a cast and gives support for your ankle. i even raced the next day
yo if you did it last summer and you still don't have a full range of motion, you prolly need to get it scoped to remove all the scar tissue, and you better get on it cause you'll prolly be out for like a month after goin under the knife
Get yourself a theraputic rubberband and stretch your ankle with. all you do is wrap one end of the the band around your foot and hold the other end with your hands hold as tight as you can, while still being able to move your ankle. then start to roll your ankle in a cirular motion both directions. Do this about 5 minutes each day...trust me this works to strengthen, I played college basketball and I can literally jump and land on my ankle sideways and not hurt it...
i do This all the time the way to get the tendons and stuff back to par is to stand on one foot (the one you sprained) for 5 minutes. Do this twice eveyday and you will notice a huge change I haven't sprained or rolled mine since i started doing this. It works
Ice it if its swollen, 15 minutes of ice on, 45 minutes off, than 15 minutes back on. Keep doing this for a few hours. Ibuprofin is good for swelling and pain, its what i use when I hurt my ankle. Thats about all you can do for an ankle sprain.
