Question for photogs, size of CF card

So i just got a canon 40d and i was curious on what size compact flash card i should get. So some opinions would be great, thanks.

It says that with the "fine" setting and size large picture, the file size is 3.5mb, so a 2gb card would hold like 550+ pictures, which seems enough for me.

my friend just bought the d60 and he has 1gb mem card, hold a decent amount for him i would get like 4 gig tho.

Go ebay for sure, you can get new cards for half the price. I have two four gig cards and two two gig cards and its great, but I shoot Raw and it takes up a ton of space.
If you just shoot jpg, you could get away with two two gigs, or one four gig for now. Its always easy to get another CF card.

Word im just looking for short term thing, im going to canada tomorrow so id like ill prob just get a 2gb and maybe a 4gb for ski season. Do just camera shops sell CF cards or do they have them at wally mart and stuff?

because my camera shop i got the camera at closes at 6, and i have class at 6, and wallymart closes neverish.

Yeah you can get CF cards almost any where that offers anything camera related.

Futureshop had a wicked deal on 8gb cards... that's what I use now. Super super fast. Watch out for the cards on ebay that claim they are SanDisk.. most are fake.. they still work but aren't very fast. It'll say 16x on the sticked but in reality it's like a 4x haha
