Make it Easier to Delete thread

Okay so ii just got finished deleting 30 some odd threads and have to click the [x] button every time and then having to wait for the page to reload is a bit tiresome so i was wondering if it could be made such that it is similar to e-mail. So there are boxes beside each of the threads under "my NS" then "my threads"  so that you could either click individually or click all without having the pg refresh each time. I think this would make the process much smoother. Thanks for your time and i'd like to hear what you guys think.

Get those white boxes which when you select it makes a tick, and then get a delete selected button at the top or bottom, it would defintiely make life a lot easier for many...

O.  We have asked.  Trust me.  but it is just one of those things that will get put on the list along with a bunch of other shit the NS staff is working hard to get finished.  I am sure it will eventually happen.

You do realize that that only deletes the thread for your "My Threads"  it will still be where ever you created it. Unless you are talking about deleting threads from your cults.

im not talking specifically about ones that you create, but the ones you comment on, and then go into "my threads" if someone comments anytime after on that same thread, so the list in the "my threads" would be easier to downsize, and quicker

Ok understood.  Scroll all the way down to the bottom of your list and you will see "Delete all My Threads?"  click on that.

Warning though.  Since I had thousands of threads, it took a long time for the hourglass thingy to disappear to allow the links to work.

mhmmmm, well see what if i wish only to delete say 40 of the 50 threads in "my threads" because i want to know if say someone where to write something on a thread that i had previously written on, yes i was aware of the delete all, but then if you delete all thread feeds, you loose your updates which is the point of "my threads" (keeping tabs on threads you've written something in) Not sure how well i explained the problem, but look up earlier in the thread to where i also discussed this delete all thread vs leaving a few to show me updates. Thanks for your time though

sort of on the same topic. it would be really really helpful to be able to edit your posts. If you are selling a bunch of stuff you can edit out the stuff that have been sold. and if you want to say something else, you dont have to double post. not being able to edit is the one thing that is wrong with ns.

it could be so useful. So lets say I have a thread, and I am selling like 20 things. and I sell ten of them. I can just edit it out. makes it so much easier for the buyers, just see what is available. Yes some people will be lazy and not do it. but what is the negative aspect of having an edit button. I dont get it.

Ryno knows...we wouldn't be able to joke about his dyslexia due to lack of getting some on a daily basis, based on the reasoning of not having an edit button.*

*I know Ryno is a mod and can delete and then repost, but he's a lazy shit in that regard.

message a mod with the link to the thread you want deleted.  I am not positive but I believe deleted threads works against your karma.  or it should :)

I don't think it would be terribly difficult to make it possible to delete threads from My Threads without having to reload the page using some Ajax.

Pretty sure thats not true. A few of us were definitely in advocacy of that but I think it never got added into the karmic equation.

weird..my threads has ALWAYS crashed my computer, since i joined in 05..even after i built a powerhouse machine..but it just loaded in like 5 seconds, then took another second to delete probaly 1000 threads

Hah awwwwww guys yeah I know there's a bunch of things that could be changed about the forums. Believe me, I've had to delete spammers before and it makes me go bananas.

The thing that you have to remember, as one of the mods said is that there's a big picture of what needs to be fixed. We really do want to take a long look at the forums, and add a bunch of cool shit to them. NS forums are fucking awesome, and actually unique over many others. WE know there's changes to be made, but for the time being we've just got some higher priorities.

THere's some big shit coming out for this winter, and we've been developing like crazy all summer long but you can't see it until the new launch. Once we tackle all the major stuff, we're going to look at other things like the forums.

One of these days we're going to get all this shit dialed in and it'll fry your brain, but until then we've got to tackle problems one by one.

I personally would much more want a flash video section than the ability to delete threads, though admittedly I can delete threads to maybe my vision is skewed. :)

Be patient... i know I always say that but we really do listen to these threads and we really do take it very seriously and do our VERY best to make this site into what you guys want.
