Painting A Helmet

Could you spray paint a glossy helmet? Would the paint stick and last fairly well?

I tried that last year with those glossy Giro helmets, I don't think it would work, but I'm not sure I fucked up painting and washed it off.

sand the helmet with a fine grit sandpaper first. it'll put little burrs in the plastic for the spraypaint to stick to.

straight to the glossy helmet, it'll peel off.

yeah, sand it down, then wipe it down with denatured alcohol (to get rid of all particulates and oils that might be on it). Then paint it.

i spray painted a giro helmet silver and i didnt sand it, i just had to do a ton of coats. my word of advice: dont do it on your washing machine my dad got really pissed when there was a sliver out line of my helmet on it

ya it can be done just do the sanding thing then use an airbrush.

1. Sand with a very fine grit sand paper.
2. Rub with rubbing alcohol.
3. Prime.
4. Paint with a exterior grade glossy paint...unless your going for flat steeze.




better to burn out...
...then fade away

matt green is a nice guy. a little slow, but still a nice guy


remember; i cant be trusted, becase the only ski movies ive ever seen were the warren miller ones, and in the haze.

and yes, i am in love with (a) sam caylor and (b)harvey.
