good question. I guess it all depends on the situation and what point you are in your life.
If you're 25, a few years younger really doesn't make a difference as long as you are both at similar points in your life.
if you're younger, age plays a bigger role.

I'll be 25 in a month, so 18 is my limit (which somehow works into that formula) - but I think I'll use 18 as the limit until I'm 30, then bump it up to 21 if need be.

I dunno man, depends on the girl. When I was 27, I dated a girl who was 19 (didn't know right away - not something that comes up in conversation at the bar, you know?) and this summer before I turned 30, I was dating a 21 year old for a little while, but then I also date girls older than me too - it totally depends on the vibe with the girl and how well you get along.
Do what feels right - so long as it is legal of course.
