Need for playstation, x box... freestyle ski game

I think I speak for everyone on newschoolers when I say we want a ski game instead of playing amped and pretending our board is a pair of skis. I would like to see the pro`s making moves with EA or something to creat a game made by skiers for skiers( not like ssx) If any of the big pros read this leave a comment I want your oppinion or reasons not to make a move. it would be cool if this thread was sticky because this is super important for our skiing culture and for skiing to expand its limits.

The problem is that no pros have the popularity to warrant a game being made with their name.
It wouldn't attract enough non skiers to it.

Its actually pretty ironic the whole concept, i saw a thread on here recently about how people don't want skiing in the olympics because it would somehow harm the sport, even though that would bring more money and more exposure for the pros. Which would then make a skiing game far more viable,
as pros would become more widely known. At the moment though the sport isn't mainstream enough to warrant it.

it is kind of strange, but a lot of newschool skiers have the idea that it's kind of their own little thing, and they don't want it to be ruined by going completely mainstream. In some ways thats true, because i bet the last thing most of us want is crowded parks with people who have no reason to be there at all, but it does also harm the sport because we just don't get the exposure that we'd need for a game.

And the games are what you make of them, i owned both mad trix and ssx and though they were outrageous, i had tons of fun playing them. If you wanted to, you could do the crazy unrealistic shit, or you could leave it out. People saying that they sucked and you shouldn't even bother with them, but then saying they want more games are putting the idea in reverse. I know if i was a developer who did SSX, and read everyone saying it sucked etc, then asking for a new skiing game, i'd tell them to fuck off because we tried and people rejected what they had asked for.

oh god.

jibberish (game - the name was also my idea i'd like to add, mikee liked it) is completely independent from jiberish (clothing). that game came out way before Jiberish (clothing) was big. but now they've changed the name to Jibbin'.

and it's funny, everyone who's been here longer than like 2 years remembers the bazillion threads on this topic.

Jiberish is the company, Jibberish (with two bs) is the game. Completely different things.

Has anyone here played skate????? Now they should make like EA FREESKI...THAT WOULD BE SO GNAR! Uhhh i have dreamed about this before, but I don't really play videogames often at all.

how can you say big profits? when the snowboarding community owns the skiing one, although skiing is progressing like whoa, and the majority of people still are clueless about freestyle skiing, and think that only boarders can do tricks?

after the success of skate i am sure ea is going to continue with games like it. most likely a snowboard version of skate. who knows if skiing will be included. even if it isnt, i will be extremely happy if it is like skate.

they made this game for ps3 that is mostly racing but u can do whack ariel tricks. by the reviews im gona say it blows. and there are tons of shitty skiers who go like 3 times a year who would prob buy the game. i always get kids who tell me that the can grab their skis in an x. ya their shit skiers but hey they would prob buy the game.. ssx blur for wiii will have skiing but i dont have wii so ....

Prehaps EA don't know how large the freeski market actualy is?

They made a freerunning game for god sake...

lol indeed maybee you should but u have a fucking good point with the freerun. maybe they dont realise the market and a petition is a good idea........ for that reason i will go start the petition

a game like SKATE, but SNOW would be the greatest... kinda more realistic
if they made it skiing and boarding like on tour, the target market might be big enough.
don't crucify me i'm just throwin it out there (the boarding part)
