looking deeper at the friends that i smoke with today kinda made me have a revelation. ive realized that everyone definitely smokes weed to escape something. now i know, people are gonna say "nahh i smoke weed cuz its dope shit! im just a partier." but then i'd say that person struggles with self esteem issues and has constantly strived for approval.
doesnt it make sense? i know thats a really shitty example but gimme a break, im high.

I think thats only true for people who smoke on a consistant basis.
Im very much the "every once in a while" kinda person, mostly because an opprotunity arises when theres an epic movie to watch or a sicknasty party.

it's always a drag to have that kind of realization. i can totally relate to you on this whole aspect of thinking, and although sometime's it's not pleasant to be entertaining ideas like this, awareness of all the aspects of a situation is so crucial to a balanced life. i, for one, find the most solace in regarding myself and others with relatively little esteem (but in an extistentialist rather than pessamistic manner), and therefore am always pleasantly surprised when someone does not live up to my lack of expectations. hope maybe this will help you

I ususally smoke before bed, lets me unwind and relax. It also helps me reflect on my day, life in general, what shit I need to get together. It gives me some me time.

see i used to smoke every day for like two years, then i got i trouble and now i dont do any thing any more and havent for like two years and i can tell you im way happier now than i ever was when i was gettin blazed. true story

I used to only smoke once in a while to get away from everything, I would have a really busy week and then saturday night I would be hanging out with my friends and it would be a great way to get away from my responsibilities for a few hours. Skiing is the same way, I can have millions of problems going on but when I'm skiing, I don't care: i'm in absolute bliss. (the two together is the best: there is nothing like flying down a slope on the border of being out of control while high as balls)
Starting freshman year of college I started smoking daily, many times skipping class and other responsibilities to smoke. I realized it was a problem and quit for a semester and got my shit together and have now found a happy medium. I smoke a few times a week before I go skate, or while skiing with some buddies, or on a late night watching a stupid movie. It's not a harmless drug: to say that is ignorant, it can be very mentally addicting if you don't have the willpower to remain in moderation.

I smoke because it makes my brain work differently and it definitely is a good way to escape from something. If i had a bad day or something . blazing helps you relax and take your mind off of the situation for a little bit. Theirs nothing wrong with that.
And breaking up bud and smoking is fun too.
People who Need to smoke and its not a choice to them are wack.

i disagree. i smoke because i enjoy it. almost everyone i know drinks on a regular, almost daily basis. i used to do that too, i was an alcoholic. then i realized all alcohol ever does is make me feel like shit. dank on the other hand, that makes me feel good. i would be having a much tougher time with my life right now if i didn't toke up every once in a while.
plus i'm half-jamaican and my grandma was friends with bob marley, it's almost a given that i should light some ganja and breathe it in.

dude you're only thinking this cause your high. i smoke weed to see or enjoy things that i like differently. for instance: eating, bicycling, walking, listening to music, etc. not to escape reality, but to alter it.
