Canon Lenses

Hey guys i am planning on buying a rebel XTI, body only and i was wondering what was a good lens for general use and some MTB and skiing shots, i am relatively new to photography especially to additional lenses so any advice would be appreciated,

i would rather not have this thread be a debate over canon and nikon so please try to avoid this

You could definitely get the lens that basically every action sports photog has, the 70-200L F2.8. The 10-22mm would come in handy for super wide angle shots

either the 50mm 1.8 or 50mm 1.4 from canon are sure bets, the later being more expensive but results show

i love my 50mm 1.8...its my only lens right now and was great for learning. im looking into a 28-135 or 70-200 right now. if you want some sample pics let me know

im new to photography too i got the xti/400d for xmas and ran out of $$$ so i havent got any new glass i was look at a sigma lens 70-200mm have you heard good things about sigma lens the link below is for a lens thats only like 220

the sigma 70-200 2.8 is supposedly an outstanding lens.

the 50mm 1.8 is just an easy way to get started for $60-80
