Going to be coming down to PC for presidents day weekend and wondering whats in the canyons park right now..... and yes i know Park City Resorts park is way better, but probably wont get a chance to ride there cuz of free tickets i got to canyons....
I jsut made a pot about it in Ski Gabber, check it out. Their park is as good as PC's with a much more relaxed vibe. its fun. I still like PC better though.
I ski PC and canyons parks regularly. Here is canyons set up. Top of
"advanced" park. Right line - up-dip-down box (weird but fun), 4 ft gap
to flat box, dragon tail box, flat up flat box. Left line - rainbow
rail, flat rail, down rail, d-f-d rail (its short).
Both lines go into a quarterpipe like PC had up, but this one is
covered in a carpet astroturf material so you can hold and edge on it
so that airing out is a possibility. Then comes two step downs both
around 20 ft. After this is an up-flat(that is a foot high so you have
to ollie off the up)-down box. Then the bottom park of the park.
The bottom park of the park is an s-box to a flat down box. Then the
fun jump line. Its like a shitty 20 ft step down, then a lippy table
that is about 40, great air off of it but I have over shot it a few
times, knuckling it isnt an issue. The last jump is less poppy than
jump to and around 35 but also a lot of fun. Thats the advanced park.
They also have a intermediate park which is fun to cruise through,
haven't been in it for sometime now so Im not too sure of the set up.
top 2 features are a flat box to dance floor or a upflat to another flat box i think into a dfd box. then it goes into a 4 pack which is all about 15-20 footers which arent to bad they're all fairly lofty. then goes into a spine with a corregated tube on top into a rainbow box or a flat down rail/box into a down rail to finish it off.
both parks are really fun and worth a look. the expert is more like a really sweet mid level park. the 1/4 pipe is original and fun and all the rails/box's are set up really nicely right now. they just re-set all the upper jibs so the gap to box is a few feet bigger then it was last week and all the street style rails are slightly higher then last week as well.
