So I've been working on my 3s this season, and I was just wondering if it's easier to do a tail 3 or a mute 3? neither grab is leading. I've got my mute 1s down, but whenever I try a mute 3, I go for the grab but get off axis and start to flail. I've also gotten really comfortable on tail 1s, and feel like I could maybe spin a 3 with it, but I haven't tried it yet. Which one is easier?
mabye your trying to grab too early, like your coming off the lip arleady starting to reach for the grab. that would make sense for why your going corked. just find a good sized jump like 30+feet and take your time getting the grab. for me tails are easier, but mine look silly so i do mutes cause they look better.
i always found mutes easier, because your body is forward and compact, short reach too, and on tails you're more open and reaching back (i'm assuming you mean true tail)
i think mutes are easier, but then again, tail would naturally come into your hand whilst you were spinning and looking with your head for the landing, if that makes sense, just try both and see how you do, whats the worst that could happen eh?
mute is definitely the easier grab for most people. Like these guys have said, you just seem to be trying to grab to early. Wait til 180 before trying to grab, like someone above me said. If you are trying to do a tail grab, suck your knees in rotate your hip inward, so it brings the ski to your outreached hand, much easier then reaching back for your ski.
well I tried some tail 3s tonight, and I landed it, so I'm actually pretty sure that those are easier. I tried some mute 3s, and they're a lot better than they used to be, but I still missed the grab by a little.
grabbin with the right hand to the right tail would lead ur spin, so that would be easy, but since ur turnin left, grabbin the left hand to the left tail would be easier to actually grab cause ud be grabbin in the direction of ur spot. just practice both, its better to learn more tricks
for me tails are a lot easier.. i can easily do both but tails are super easy... i can spin them both ways both times grabbing the same way is spin so if i spin left im grabbing left tail n the opposite for right... so much easier as it is basically directly in ur spin already but mutes are pretty easy too if u suck ur body up
i find tails easier because i can spot my grab and the landing at the same time. for some reason i've just had issues with mutes, but give 'er a go, both are pretty basic and learning one will lead to the other
