you have no idea how jealous I am here in NJ. I was going to go skiing tomorrow but I can't because the mountain is closed because it's been rainy for the last week. and all I could think about was all the pow you're getting and how I'm not going to utah this april.

but really my theory (which is probably wrong) is that since it is at such a low elevation, the precipitation has to travel through many different layers of atmosphere before reaching the ground, so eventhough it is cold in the lowest level, it may be warmer higher up so it doesn't freeze as it gets closer to the ground unless a cold front moves in and then its cold all the way down, just like how it can snow even when its over 32

"you should of stripped completley naked stood next to them with your hand out asking to be tagged in."
Reason: The jet stream is higher north, which often means that warm fronts are more present and bring rain on the a depression. High pressures drive the low pressures away. If the jet stream is lower, the cold fronts are dominating north of the jet stream. the warm front will be cooler than the south. The Jet stream has a present tendency of being more in the north.
