I've never owned any polarised lenses in my life let alone skiied with them. Does anyone have any experience with polarised lenses on the slopes. I hear that they are perfect for bright weather with powder but pretty shit for picking up ice on the pistes. Is this true?
Also anyone know the cheapest place to pick up some crowbars?
no, not entirely true. i have polarized lenses for my phenoms and i usually only wear them in really bright or semi bright days etc, but the main thing that they help you with is snow vision. With a regular oakley persimmon lens, there is no filter for glare inside the lens so any reflected light from the sun on the snow goes right into your eyes, preventing you from seeing imperfections in the snow, including sections of ice. Ive noticed that this only works consistently in really bright days, but it works incredibly. they are also good for your eyes too, they dont feel as stressed at the end of the day from squinting in the bright light.
the cheapest place would honestly be a local shop, online stores tend to charge alot for polarized stuff, but they usually have a better selection online as well. good luck, theyre pretty pricey but worth it.
