Yo, so I have skied pipe before, but never really fully gotten out of the pipe more than a foot. Today at Loon, I was riding the superpipe and just hiking it a ton trying to get better, because I was so pumped on seeing the pros getting really high out and i wanted to get kinda high out. I ended up getting out decently high, but i still need help so I don't look shitty doing it. Got some 5's but they were probably not very good and some alley-oop 1's which were maddd fun. So here are my issues as of now for pipe, help me if you can:
1. Not Boosting High Enough- today I wasn't going super fast as Loon doesn't really have an inrun at all to get speed, but if I haul ass will that make it a lot easier to boost high?
2. Trouble Popping "Up"- I can pop on jumps and stuff, but I am confused on it in the pipe... How do I pop up, rather than forward (casing) or backward (landing way too far in)
3. Position- Just want to clarify this, but I have heard a lot that I should stand tall as i go up the wall, especially in the tranny.
4. Fear- I get up a few feet, and I am like "Shit, what if I case this or fall way far into the pipe?" Thats probably because today the first time I actually got legit air on the first hit, I cased the shit out of it and flipped back into the pipe, leaving a ski chilling on the deck. How do I just get high and not case, and get over the fear of casing? I know you will tell me to sack up, but I can sack up on jumps, and I feel like I am sacking up in the pipe somewhat, but I still am just scarred of casing that shit.
Help me out if you can, I should be going back tomorrow so I will try out what you tell me.
And please only post if you can actually boost out of the pipe consistently, I thought I could teach myself how to do it, but I really think the only way to give good advice is if you can actually stomp shit every time.
Thanks
