geting around foolproff

hey ok so if ur school uses foolproof i have found a way to get it turned off...
wut u do is u go to the command prompt usualy found on the hard drive (C: drive) then once ur in the comand prompt you schould see
C:\>
type: edit sss\fool32.exe
it schould look like this
C:\>edit sss\fool32.exe
this will open an editor, select a bunch of lines of the program and hit the delete key(not backspace!)
then click FILE and go to save
you schould be back at
C:\>
type: edit sss\foolstr.exe
it schould look like this
C:\>edit sss\foolstr.exe
select a bunch of lines of the program and hit the delete key(not backspace!)
save again, then exit the comand prompt and resart your comp...
if u did it right foolproof cant start cuz the startup file (Fool32.exe) is messed up
vwa la! no more fool proof
(notes: if when u type: edit sss\fool32.exe and just a planck blue screen shows up your gonna have to find the file fool32.exe on your system, then replace the sss with the folder that it in.
I have only tested this on a windows 98 machine, and all i had time to test in study hall was that i could save anywhere on the hard drive, and could install any program i want!)
damn im a genious... haha
well hope it works for u, just a little more fun to have in study hall

it locks stuff out, like u cant download anything or install anything and i hate it so i had to find a way around it

hahahaa, that would have helped me about 3 years ago before my skool went over to win2000. now they think they're invincible cause everyone has a password. just wait till somone finds a teacher pword, or better, the principle's. (wink)

yeah my school just uses old software but buys new comps haha like the comp art has G5's and soscial studies has emacs, then the library has P4 compacs

my school uses fortress.. and a proxy to block out 'bad' websites..

I just downloaded a different browser, and was able to get into the internet options, and i now go through a .mil proxy server. FAST, and i get unfiltered internet ;)

oh, and, if you can get into the command prompt, then that software sucks.. beacuse, you can do anything from there. i highly doubt you will be allowed to get into command.

last year we could do so much stuff to the computers but now they have XP and its hard to do anything. You can't even right click.

xp does make it hard.. there is a lot of built in security with xp pro i think.. granted, everything is able to be hacked into.. some (98) much easier than others.. we are allowed in teh command prompt in school beacsue we need it to program stuff in.. which is cool, beacuse, then we cant do pretty much anytrhing.

i didnt have that much time on my hands I just kind of already knew wut files start up foolproof, and how to edit stuff in DOS, and besides, the whole reason i figured it out was to install divx so i could watch ski movie three with my friends. i put it on a cd to bring to school, and now i can watch it when ever i want, study hall, lunch, and when my classes go to a computer lab

god all of you on xp or 2k, just go download a ntfs reset disk. You boot from it and you can change the local administrator password, but they will see it if they keep logs.

back in the day we used to be way more ingenious than that. My school used to have a WiFi access point setup for the admin's laptop, and we used to bring in laptops and just use the unrestricted internet through his WAP.

I just transfered to my school, and dont have a user name yet for the computers, so one of the teachers let me use her account. If i dont get one soon, i should try to see the password.

I made a boot disk using a linux base and then used the ntfs sercutiy algorithms to decode the passwords stored on the ntfs system drive. I can only get it to show up in hex and it is a bit slow (linux isn't meant to work with ntfs) but it works shrug message me if you want a copy, it fits on a disk so it isn't that big.

It is a disk that you put into the computer when it reboots and then you can access the security tables in any windows nt platform (2000, xp, nt 4, any server version)... then you can view or change any password, but I haven't figured out how to change the usernames yet so if anybody knows how (hint hint wink wink)
