Backcountry in WA
Anybody got sleds? is there much backcountry accessible with them or is most of the shredding done inbounds. My family is looking at getting a place up by crystal or something and im curious to see how much backcountry i could get myself into if i wanted to. Also how consistant is the weather cold enough to get light snow, seems like its usually pretty warm and slushy when i hear about rains and shit up that way?
Sorry to bother you, just digging for some info
yes, it rains a shit load up here. The avy danger is also usualy through the roof so the BC is a big no no. Just stick to the new northway chair at crystal and youll be in the best of the NW.
what makes you a good ski filmmaker is ability to babysit.
no need to hike or sled to backcountry terrain at crystal........they just build lifts in the backcountry
i heard that back in the day when crystal was cool, some patrollers used to rip up southback on sleds
i think old crystal mountain blvd and the east peak area up to pickhandle basin are the only places you could sled there now.
definitely dont go anywhere near stevens, the bear has left tye bowl and will eat anyone venturing into the backcountry
