So heres the deal: nobody in my family has a cell phone, and im thinking of buying a prepaid cell phone.  Is it worth it? what type should i get?

but seriously....get verizon or ATT, not tmobile or sprint

dont get prepaid phones either

i have had a prepaid cell phone since grade 10, so 4 years now, still on the same plan.

Look around, think how much you will use it, and what you will use it for. I was on a promotion plan (solo mobile - i got my phone hte day the company launched, by fluke) and i lucked out huge. Unlimited free text and mobile browsing, free call display and 3 way calling, 3 cents evenings and weekends. 35 cents weekdays (but i rarely call on week days).

Look around, but one thing i tell everyone, when you are starting to look for a phone you always underestimate how much you will end up texting people. What ever your plan is, if it doesn't have free texting your done for (about 90% of the time).

20 bucks lasts me a month, where anyone on a plan is spending between 50-70 bucks a month.

i know im behind. im 16. all my friends have been bothering about it for a while so i think i might be willing to give in. im not really planning on using it too much tho. just when i need it.

yo get verizon. you can talk to all your friends with verizon for FREE all the time, plus if there is a chance of convincing your rents to get a family plan, it'd mean you can all call each other for free too. so if a lot of the people you'd call have verizon you could get the cheapest plan which is probably like 35/month then 20/month for each extra phone. and if your parents are like mine they wont use any of the family minutes and you'll have them all to yourself anyway.

thats what i thought before too...bad idea

seriously though, get verizon or at&t or something. with a prepaid you fuck with your friends who have a real company cause they get charged more for texts and calls. plus it'll be like $10 more a month, not too much...


oh and make sure you get unlimited texting, almost a must now.

heck no just go to t mobile or verizon and buy a cheap phone thry even have family plans so everybody can get one for a discountrd price
