Adult bindings on junior skis
i have k2 juvy's and i need to know if i can but look px12 jib bindings on them. i heard that the screws will be to long and will go through my ski. any info?
Have the screws ground down, it shouldn't be a big deal. Then you'll need new screws if you ever transfer them to new skis.
Unsure on the screw length, but you can see the required screw length on the ski - compare that to the PX binding screws and you will know if they are compatible
Pretty sure junior screws are often around 8mm long and adult screws are 9.5mm - so definitely check that..
You may need to use shorter screws or add washers to the existing screws between the binding and the ski to prevent damaging the ski base.
Before drilling any junior ski, check the screw depth by putting the binding over the mounting area so that the binding screws on one side of the heel track appear alongside
the ski sidewall.
Another issue with crossing over adult/junior gear is the boot to binding interface, because junior boots shouldn't be used with adult bindings
Outside of that, i don't see any issue with putting PX12s on Juvy's, provided the screw length is checked and sorted out
Speak to a shop
I thought junior was 6mm and adult was 8mm.....
