So I was at a Salomon demo day today and the rep had a prototype for an 2010 ski. They had the guns current graphic (graphic isn't decided I guess) and they looked similar to the gun but had rocker in the tip. I couldn't try them cause they were a fellow salomon person's ski and wouldn't find my sole length. Has anyone else seen this ski around?
that would be the rocker, available for purchase this year, pretty limited but no that isn't the ski I am talking about. The ski they had was essentially a gun with rocker, very similar dimensions and the same topsheet.
Theres a thread on TGR about this. At the matchstick premier some dude asked Abma if his everyday ski was the 198 Lab and he said nahh its too big, i ski on a new rockered twin tip. So i am thinking thats the ski that rep or sollie employee had. I'll find that link.
It seems like most skis companies are going to come out with something rockered in the next couple of years. After skiing on a pair of Moment Melees I can see why. Soooo good in the pow and they catch way less in the crud, chop and wind blown. Once you get used to them they ski almost like a slalom ski on the groomers, due to a short portion of the ski being in contact with the snow.
what do you do with your park skis? play racer? - asian_allen
its like on a skateboard how the edges are raised a little on the sides i think it would be like rockering it both ways front to back and sise to side i think
