oh dear...they dont have any rails at all!

this is torture, all my friends are going to craigleith, but i have a superpass to blue.

skiing a good park alone for free vs. hitting boxes with friends for $50...

wow, I hate to say it, but only at craigleith has the park gotten consistently worse each year.

the jump was completely flat. there were no rails, and every box was ride on.

Two seasons ago their park was the shit, what happened?

the weird thing I've found with private clubs is there usually the slowest to get there stuff going, i was at Georgian peaks(another private club the other side of Craig) and they only had three runs open and a couple rails. It amazes me that even places like dag and mslm can be 100% , but places where families pay 50 grand a year can only have a few runs open. Surely they have enough cash to throw on some snowblowers, anyways just my opinion, basically private clubs are really slow.

Private clubs aren't slow, they just have different priorities compared to public hills. Public hills are concerned with bringing in more skiers, equaling more revenue. Private clubs generate revenue from member fees and ski school/race school. Having a sick park benefit a private hill as much as it would a public one. Most members are of an older generation, and many of the younger people skiing there are involved in either teaching or race programs. They all build parks to satisfy the small portion of their members that ride park, but for most families, a good park is hardly a deciding factor when choosing a hill to become a member at. That being said, Beaver Valley has it's head in the game and usually puts together the best private park in Ontario. Alpine usually does well, GP and Craigleith are never very impressive. Osler has a decent park, and above all, Caledon has a park better than Blue and Louis put together. Check it out.

thats very true with the park, but why only have three runs open, we know they have the money to throw on their snowblowers

I was comparing it to previous years I visited Craigleith, not blue or MSLM.

I realize a half decent park is low on their list of priorities, but they dont seem to be putting nearly as much effort into the park compared to past seasons.

alpine is really stepping up the park this year. THey have some decent sized jumps, decent rails and a big ass battleship box. Everyone come an check it out.

alpine is actually really decent this year all but two runs are open as of today

the park has a flat down rail then a box and an up rail beside it then two decent sized jumps then a massive battle ship box which is followed by an up gap to down box and a 20 foot keg box and a hip and a backwars wail tail to a 20 foot rail to a 10 foot rail then to a 20 foot sort of urban rail and a c box a rainbow rail a fdf rail to a 20 foot box thats high of the ground and the super pipes probably been the best groomed since day one then it ever has been in the past

Sorry forgot to put per year, yah its a big difference...its a life time membership that 50, 000  but thats still a lot. Plus annual fees and ski passes. And if the club wants to put up a new chairlift, they just ask everyone for 5 grand(it happened just this year for Georgian peaks) so it adds up.

only osler is 50,000. Devils Glen comes in close at 45,000. Peaks Craigleth and Alpine all around 25000. Beaver Valley at about 20,000 (gone up from 12,000 last year) and mansfeild at about 4000. Check your numbers bro

Yuuup. This is all truth. And remember these are just initiation fees, you pay that much once and then around 1000-2000 per year for annual dues. And at alot of private clubs, there's pretty big waiting lists to get in. Osler is something rediculous like 5-10 years.

the Beav puts together an amazing park because it is essentially the home of organized freestyle skiing in ontario. having arguably the best run freestyle program in ontario and the training home of the SOR team (ahren correct me if im wrong) will definately come into play when putting a park together.



are you guys sure about Georgian Peaks only being $20,000? that seems pretty low to me.

last time i checked, alpine and craig were at 30g,osler was at 50g and gp was at 32g i had no idea that devils glen was that much. they must have their shit togather

I heard that the part of the ridge that georgian peaks is on is shifting and all the snow making pipes are cracking and splitting so they gotta replace them with new flexible pipes and they gotta bury them deeper soo thats probably why they only had like 3 runs open  and i doubt its gonna get better anytime soon.

skied it today and will tomorrow. For a private club its a sick park, only one rail(rainbow) so thats a con. they have 3 sets of jumps the first two both with options and the last one is a huge step up. Its a great park and everything was super nice today

the re-did the super pipe after the melt down and its no longer super, its narrower than Hank Hills urethra
