So I normally don't buy food at the mountain, it was always too expensive.

But now, holy shit!! It is absolutely completely and utterly out of hand. 16 bucks for a chicken finger and gatorade at sunday river, and TWENTY SEVEN DOLLARS for a chicken finger, brownie, and drink at waterville.

These are things I keep hearing, now sure if it's true or not, but shit! Is this only happening around the east coast mountains, or everywhere?

This one restaurant at my mountain is super fucking expensive.  11 dollars for a burger and drink.  And that's with a 30% employee discount.

i usually bring 2 ham and cheese sandwiches and 2 peanutbutter sandwiches
 for a drink i fill this 40oz. water bottle i have with water or whatever.
and ill usually buy a bag of chips at wawa or something on the way up

it's all pretty damn gay.  ski resorts rape the public.  the food the passes?  i'm sketched to think of how i'm gonna take my kids skiing.  lift tickets are like $60-90 and food is a joke.  so lets sasy a day at park city with two kids.  4 lift tickets is around $350 and food would probably be around $50ish?  so they want people to pay $400 FOR ONE DAY OF SKIING???!?!?!?!! so gay.  i'm pissed. ok so season passes once you're no longer a student? over 2 grand for me and the lady.  such a joke.  resorts are butt rapists. sorry.  i'll calm down.

at my mountain you can walk out with a tray full of food, like $15 worth (personal pan pizza, fries, hot dog, drink) and they don't say anything. if they do just say i payed i forgot a lid (never get a lid) for my drink...sorry

works like a charm. and don't bitch at me for stealing it, at that price they are asking for it.

Killington is pretty expensive, but I have a pass that gives me 50% off food, so i can get a cheeseburger, fries, and a soda for $6. It is a pretty good deal for me, but a bad one for basically everyone else.

Patrons at resorts are a totally captive market. It's unlikely you will get in the car and drive off the hill to get food, so they can really charge whatever they want and people will still pay it. Plus there isn't really any competition at all.

The best option to avoid this is to cook something up yourself, or take your own food, because resort food prices aren't going to get any cheaper.

ya, it makes you gay.  just cause you're a dork and forgot you food what makes you think that somebody else should provide it for you?  hopefully someday you'll figure out that everyone isn't here to serve you. 

ps...if you could read you would see that i said "steal what's inside" i.e. cd's, camera, ipod, computer, wallet, etc. not a car.  pay attention.

to nomensteven i'm not asking for dirt cheap.  $90 for a lift ticket is a joke.

ya right dood, you have to do twenty push ups and jumping jacks for a minute to get a packet of mayo at my mountain.  a burger to go with it costs half a left nut.  they don't even accept right nuts.

ive been getting my lunch at a supermarket outside of hood for 5 bucks, 3 chicken strips, a bunch of jo jo's, chips, and a drink for 5 bucks.. at meadows that would cost about 10 to 15, maybe 20 bucks
