this is a response to every dumb post on this thread:
riders already poach those mtns without cash incentive anyways.
the comp will probably hurt the ultimate cause of getting the bans lifted but will help burton's rep by being rebellious, as their target market is teenagers who want to be rebellious.
alta gets over 400 in of snow a year and deer valley gets over 300 in. beginner snowboarders ride chutes just as much as beginner skiers.
stop whining about burton. their a snowboard company. why should they give a fuck about skiers? they spent 20 years trying to convince skiers to snowboard, not convince skiers to ski park.
stop whining about them being a big company and not "core". salomon was owned by adidas and recently sold to a massive holding company. rossi is owned by quiksilver, which does over 2 billion a year in revenue and is a public company, unlike burton. this is the nature of modern business.
Burton's team is made up of some the most influential snowboarders of this era, which very few of compete often.
as for the Remaining 4, you can keep Mad river glen and deer valley. from what i've heard alta and taos are the only worthwhile ones.
