How do you guys view people that commit suicide? I see it as a cowards way out.

its not a mental condition. mabye in some cases it could be. but plain ol suicide isnt a sickness. if you commit suicide you are a weak ass bitch. i dont give a shit how many times you got shoved into a locker or made fun of in high school, get over it and get some self confidence. and dont even say id be singin a different tune if that was me. if you dont belive in yourself, you are a weak person who deserves to die anyways.

kids who get picked on like that, dont jsut go commit suicide, it breaks them down after awile, and they feel less and less good about htemselves, and when they feel totally worthless, they become mentally unstable, and stick a gun in their mouths. thats my opinion, so you dont have to argue me on it

my dads friend committed suicide a few weeks ago. It was really sad. Its pretty selfish but for some people it probably seems like the only answer.

yes you are correct, selfish is a better way of putting it. And i know some cases are mental conditions. I know a woman that commited suicide last year and she has two kids who already have no father, i mean, you should think of your children.

Suicide is definitely mental. I went through a somewhat long phase of self mutilation, and recurring suicidal thoughts eventually I got into therapy and things have changed. When I was in that state I wasn't in touch with what matters and reality at all, so I can imagine that anyone who committs suicide really isn't able to think thoroughly about the decision they are making and whatnot. But assisted suicide is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I heard on VPR they want to legalize it in the UK.

Fuck u guys, u all have no fucking clue about what goes on in their heads. It IS a fucking disease. It's called clinical depression. If u dont get treatment, your life goes into a downward spiral and any little thing can set u over the edge. I had a bout w/ it and i can tell u that u dont think clearly at all. u feel like there is no way u can help yourself make things better. u feel trapped, scared and lonely ALL the time. It doesnt have to do w/ being bullied or anything. it's a chemical imbalance. nothing made me go into depression or forced me to feel the way i did. it just happened. if u know anyone like that, try and get them help before they get too bad and attempt suicide, because they will eventually. u can't cure yourself.

Assisted suicide isnt stupid...if someone is 85 in a hospital bed and has no chance of ever getting better. But is gonna spend the next 5 years of their life in pain just sitting there, let them die on their own terms. Assisted suicide is legal in america too for anyone over 18 its called cigarettes. I have had 2 friends commit suicide, and it destroyed their families...there is a better way to deal with it than to end it.

I have great life. Top of my class, loads of friends and a loving girlfriend, and a bright future. But I have bipolar disorder and manic depression. when it hits, it feels more natural to want to be dead than to be alive. Sometimes I just get tired and wish to myself that I won't wake up in the morning. I have though only truly attempted twice and several other times I got close and backed-out. If anything I felt that I was too weak to do it. But that's just my personal analysis on the situation. And I attempted 6 years ago in the 7th grade the first time and 3 years ago a year before I graduated from high school.( yeah the math doesn't add up...I skipped 8th grade and went thru high school in 3 years)....hope that all helps

Actually they are trying tolegalizing assisted or suggested suicide by pyschologists. It's not like 'pulling the plug' it's people who are brainwashed, but well enough to go to therapy twice a week and their dr. is allowed to pretty much tell them 'well your life isn't worth living'

my favorite professor, who i had a few beers with bi-weekly at my colleges pub, killed himself this summer. we were very close, he had 3 kids all under the age of five. It hit me really hard. What was scary is that he was so happy... he was a great man, his name was shawn simpson.. i feel like i cant trust anyone now. Its a shame

yea, suicide is generally a thing dealing with mental issues. A while back, I had a friend with a biochemical imbalance, and she tried to kill herself with a razor. She wasn't even a loner. She has plenty of friends that care for her. She told us after she was treated that it was so scary watching herself just cut her wrists, but once she started, she couldn't stop.

I've dealt with similar things, and it's not always a biochemical imbalance. It can deal with like stress building up over a huge amount of time and stuff like that. I've never actually tried to kill myself, but I went through a few years where I'd write the scariest things like about how I'd kill myself. I knew exactly how I would have done it, I'd even go down and play with the knives, and cut my fingers to make sure they were still sharp. Don't give me that shit about how it's selfish, and the fools way out. You have no idea how scary it is, and you can't really stop yourself.
I'm sure there are some people who have killed themselves, and it almost seems selfish to their family and friends cause they just don't know what that person was going through.

My brother commited suicide last christmas, if any of you remember the post. And it's not the cowards way out, there are times when it's justifyable, and it does seem like a very good option.

and also...suicide is not just a imbalance of chemicals...yes depression can lead to that but also a chain of events...63% of the people who commit suicide did not suffer from depression

Last christmas eve my friend i grew up with killed himself he was incredably smart straight a's through highschool was going to univ of flord full ride he was rich always had hot girlfriend. i dunno, i've herad that saying before and i've never seen the show. but yah, i just recently checked myself into the hospital because i knew if i didn't i would end up killing myself, and that was something i really didn't want to do. for any of you that dont understand depression and what it feelslike...it doesn't matter how things are around you, and you can act perfectly happy all the time. but it's always there, it's like you're drowning and you cant get to the air but you can see it. it's so close but you can't breathe it in. it's so hard.

Try to have some descency here. Alot of people have lost ones they loved through suicide.

One of my friends commited suicide not too long ago. He shot himself in the head in his living room. His best friend since childhood (good friend of mine) had to go over to his house, and help his friend's grieving mother clean up the mess. He also helped carry his casket.

I can't imagine what his mom and him must have gone through. It's horrible.

It's not for me to judge. I don't know what was going on inside his head

what amazes me about people who commit suicide many of them have great lives, where as we have people on death row fighting to stay alive doesn't make whole lotta sense.Suicide is ashame, my first girl friend in HS committed suicide cause she felt her parents hated her. Hate and love are underrated when it comes to it's over all power. Both can make you feel great and both can kill you.
