get a better Nikon than the n75, if not go with the canon, better customer service. with low end cameras go with cheaper and a service agreement(not a warranty but a service agreement you'll need it) cause the quality of picture is about the same.

I read an article in one of the mags last winter that talked about the photographers - could have been transworld snow, but its early in the morning and I might be hallucinating on that - either way, most pros listed Nikons as their camera body of choice. Usually the f1 or a similar one mind you. Dunno the model that you talk about though. What is really more important though, is who is holding the camera and what that person does with it. Either one is probably going to take some good shots for you, depending on what you do with it.
