My 165cm Dynastar Concepts are my favourite skis. Atomic Deviants in 172 were great for carving around, but would have been heavy in the park. 150cm Rossi B1ws or B2ws were fun for a bit, but weren't as stable as a longer ski.
Keep in mind length isn't the only thing that matters. Mad_Trix in 163cm are almost too much for me sometimes since they are really stiff and mounted really far back.
Then here's what you need to know: you are standing farther forward on twin tips, so on a 150 twin tip you have a lot less ski in front of you than on a 150 regular ski. Also, the better you get, the longer you will want your skis. When people say they like "shorter skis" for park they don't mean skis shorter than their chin or something, they just mean they don't want like 190cm powder skis or something. Measure from the floor to your chin and then from the floor to the top of your head (i'm gessing that for you this will be around 165cm to 175cm). This is a good range to be in, then adjust it for how you want to ski or your ability. If you get 150's, you are going to get tired of them really fast and everyone will make fun of you because you will look like you are on snowblades or child's skis.
I'm 5'7, riding 171's. That's personal preference, of course, and they're nearly as tall as I am.
For you.. if you're beginning in park, you'd probably want something in the 160-165 range. Like 165 Dynastar Troublemakers wouldn't be a bad choice. They're relatively cheap, if you go for last year's model, you can grab a pair for just over $200 I'd be guessing, and then you could use that extra $100 in your budget for some decent bindings. Some '07 Rossignol FS WRS would be really good, they're on sale for a decent price too and they're light. There's also the 158 Rossi Ghetto Pro's, around $250.

Where do you ski and what conditions? I'm 5'10" 170, I had a pair of 150's about 2 years ago and they were pretty sweet. Crashed goin 75mph on them and they broke so I went to the tweeks which are 163
i ride 150's and im 5 feet tall
i still use my 147's and im like 5' 3" but when i was a wee lad i used 138's and i was like 4' 9" or somewhere around there
dont be a dip stick, use lip stick!

what are talking about. The kid is tiny
Your 163's are too short dude..I got blends @ 165cm that feel wicked short at any kind of speed...great in the trees and low pow tho due to the stiffness and I'm 5'7 170....you're due for a bigger ski my man.
Na, they're actually just fine. I've had them in the deep stuff, in the trees, off the jumps and rails, and have had them up to about 65-70 mph. They work just great for me. The only thing that I have that is bigger is my race skis. Alot of my friends that are the same size it not bigger usually ski on smaller stuff.
well if you want to ski any pow in the East then you're gonna need something with at least an 80 or bigger waist, otherwise, you're gonna work your ass off. That way they will work on any other condition.
yea man its been said alot but 150 is waaaaaaaaaaaaay to short. im exactly the same size as you and im on 171 anthems
