ACL Surgery anyone?

Yeah.. so how many other people have blown out their knee? I blew mine out the 5th day of the 02-03 season training in Copper... It got me kinda mad at racing so i decided to pick up some twin tips and do some free riding this season... anyone else have a similar story? or blown out their knee?

I blew my knee out 4 years ago now. I tore ACL, MCL and some meniscus crap. It sucks. Physical therapy for something like 8 months 3 times a week wasnt fun...

i blew it out 3 and half years ago. didn't know it and kept skiing two seasons before having it diagnosed. i just thought i was out of shape

i was skiing 5 months after surgery.

i blew mine in Feb. 2001....... fucking east coast rain ice bullshit.

anyway, i'm just skiing with a knee brace, i haven't had it reconstructed yet.....

it's good to know that some people are skiing about 6 months later ^...... cause they say i'm fucked for a year when i go in for mine.....

yeah.. I had surgey in Dec. 2002, i was 'able to ski' 6 months later (june)... but where i live most of the snows gone in march, so i was outta luck

yeah the rehab sucks..my knee still hurts after a good days riding but its all better by the next morning. wearing a brace sucks though but it helps

ACL, MCL, and miniscus last fall playing soccer...missed entire ski season and lacrosse season too. Kinda sucks given that that was my season to show to college coaches...whatever im back this year.

acl, mcl, lateral miniscus. it sucked i did it last march and just got cleared to play full contact soccer. fun stuff. i had a sick tight physical therapist. so it wasnt that bad. plus i only had to go for like 3.5 months.

i had mine reconstructed beginning of feb. but i got rehabbed in time to ski in whistler in june-july, i couldnt take big hits very good and it swelled up alot, but i could do rails just fine.

oh yeah my new acl was 'harvested' from the patella tendon. so when i work to hard in running or anything i have a small tendonitus(sp) problem but not bad.

well it was more my fault because i worked to hard in the beggining of physical therapy. But it isnt bad and i talked to another doctor about it and he said i will either out grow it or just get in shape and it will start to fade.

ive grown maybe an inch since then im around 5'11' but i think i will be in shape soon enough and it will be gone. no worries. i will ski till i drop still hell i gotta another knee.

they always take it from the patellar tendon if possible, because its usually healthy, strong tissue

speaking of running i was sprinting on the soccer field after talking about this and after reaching close to like my full sprint i tried to go faster and took the step with my left leg and my right doesnt move as fast and i just tumbled. sucked big time.
