RACE vs. Freeride
So heres my question: im moving to utah in 6 weeks and i am wondering if i should invest in a pair of freeride boots. as of now i have a pair of world cup race boots that fir prefectly for racing, but im thinkign i may want a booot that comes up a little lower on the calf for freeride. what doo you think?

If they fit comfortably enough for a whole day's skiing and the flex is what you want then there is no need to buy anything new.
The hardest charging skier I ever knew was a tuner in my shop in Whistler - he skied Nordica WC 150s as his everyday freeride boot. If it works, stick with it.
if you like your boots you have now, dont buy any new ones
eat, sleep, ski
probably 6-7 years ago i bought a pair of ultra stiff high end salomon racing boots, for high school racing obviously. they fit too tightly like a race boot should and hurt my feet really badly. i put up with it until the end of last year when i finally bought some head mojo's and my feet love me for it. i finally decided to buy new ones last year when i got a powder day at aspen highlands and it was an unbelievable day except my feet made me have to quit early.
if your boots fit and don't hurt, i would probably stay with them though.

might as well see if your current boots work for you before you drop a lot of money on a new pair that you may or may not like more. Plus, boots are cheap in the spring.
