anyone ever seen these signs? I have a better idea: keep kids alive, do your fucking job as a parent and do some parenting. don't let your kids play in the street. people used to speed in my hood, and my parents told me to stay out of the street. problem solved. this dipshit who used to have one of these signs in their yard til I swiped it is responsible for getting a 3 way stop put in on the road I live on and drive on every day.
I am sick of jackass parents who think that its everyone else's fault but their own if their kid gets hurt. I actually had 2 parents completely bitch me out not too long ago for driving 10 mph through a development. nothing in this story is exaggerated. I was driving really slow cause I was just about to park, and came around a very wide bend in the road. I saw some kids playing touch football in the middle of the street. I glanced at the speedometer: 10 mph. I put on the brakes and came to a slow stop, not even close to where the kids were. next thing I know this guy is screaming his head off at me saying "you could have killed these kids" over and over. I told him calmly that I was going fifteen miles per hour UNDER the speed limit, that I wasn't even close to the kids.
the guy accused me of getting smart with him, and then I lost it and told him to get his kids out of the street, at which point his wife told me several times to "move along, bud." finally after the guy continued to chew me out I told him to fuck off and drove away.
I think parents need to take more responsibility these days. we don't need anti-smoking and anti-drug ads on TV, parents should tell their kids these things, and then hope for the best. and if your kid respects a television ad more than your own advice, you have fucked up as a parent.
