Ok, so my original Raw file from my HDV camera came to a good 380 mb. not too bad. so im editing in Premier Elements, editin is fine and all. Now i need help exporting. All my exports come out freakin hugeeee. i tried exporting quicktime and it came out as 2 gigs, rediculous. What is a good exporting setting, i dont mind if i export to WMV or Mov, as i'll be uploading to brightcove. so i need my files under 100mb, but keeping my quality high.

Download Quicktime Pro (illegally) and convert your videos with that if you want to put them on the internet.

What should i export in my editor as then? I've recently got DIVX converter to work, but for some reason when i'm getting lots of lines when i export to avi, mpg, or m2t. Anytime theres motion, i get tons of lines going across the screen. Only when i play it in a player tho, never happens in my editing previewer.

Export everything standard, (usually avi) it doesn't really matter.

avi comes out wierd, and the default settings at 720 by 480, aka non widescreen. somewhat wierd, and the quality isn't great. i've done some exporting in mpg, then to divx. not too bad

yeah man get quick time pro and export.
Choose QuickTime Movie then in the bar above it click Web High or Cable High or something like that. Then go under options and look for the size and it'll say 480x360, then click that bar and select custom and set the width to 640 instead of 480 since your footy is 16x9. And click ok then SAVE!

Your raw 1920x1080 HDV footage imported at 380 mb?!! How? How long is the footage? That's unbelievably small. Most HDV codecs import at about 1gb per minute.

ok, so after lots of screwing around. i exported in AVI, and i played it in Quicktime, and it looked like shit. so i exported in qPro and it came out real nice. i like it. I'm now testing exporting in plain AVI instead of DV AVI to see if theres any difference. Thanks for the help guys, everyone really helped out.
Just wondering if i shoudl change my size settings when exporting out of premier to 1440 x 1080 and then the same for the QPro export to make it bigger?
