The Attitude for sales in Ski Equipment...
There seems to be two attitudes when selling gear in this forum:
1) Sell at a fair/low price to help out other members
2) Sell at the highest price possible to make person profit...
Just wondering what everyone thinks on this. Cause I go on other forums(some ski some not) who always sell at fair prices in order to help out other members, and if someone prices an item to high they get called out on it for trying to screw other members(this attitude is shown on the TGR forums).. but when someone calls someone out in ski equipment and say posts a link to a better deal, people seem to get offended for "spoiling" his sale(basically for preventing fellow members from being ripped off...
So my question is: Is the ski equipment forum a place to make a profit or to help out fellow members of this community...

If you wanna make more money, sell it locally in a paper.

for the most part we are all spoiled little fuckitos that are willing to part with a video ipod for an Oakley jersey... But occasionally there are members that earn their living, overall we know which is which. If you are a little spoiled fuckito sell your shit low, you are getting all new shit anyway. But overall I would say taht it is up to the seller if they want to be a greedy pig sweating in a roasting pit in the depths of online forum seller hel, or if they want to hook a member up with some good deals and gain legendary status like MALONE and the like... I do know that there are people on here that I will cut $10-$50 off for, while others I wish I could charge $20-$60 more just to spite them. But over all I would say go on the lower side of things, and realize that your shit is not brand new in the store, even if it is brand new, it should still sell for around 60% of retail at the most.
If you want to make some cash just ebay them!!
this difference is that on TGR, mommy and daddy aren't paying for it like they are a great deal of the time over on NS.
its selfish to think im gonna get jizz blown in my face so you can have 9 $'s.....
im totally about the hooking ns up with deals mentality, just because im naturally not an asshole and i like being nice...though ive never sold anything on here before, if i had/will, thats what ill do

PM me for an invite to the CT Cult!
this is part of the reason the NSTO ratings were made. and it's common sense that you're not going to get retail for something unless it's an oakley jersey.

How is it bad he's trying to get his money back? 50% of retail for BRAND NEW skis bought a month ago is fucking retarded. A decent price would be 500 bucks + shipping in my opinion.
Buy my stuff!

Because in my opinion forums are a place to sell gear to fellow members and to help them out and give them a good deal. If you are super poor or something and really need to make profit in my opinion you should ebay the item... But its a controversial topic which is why I posted it for discussion.

The market will determine the fair selling price.
Leave it at that.

In my personal opinion, I think that if some noob that doesn't know shit buys something for way overpriced, its his fault.
Hope for snow 07-08 campaign!

like eheath said the item price all depends on what it is and condition. you can't say it must be at least 50% off. 20%-30% is still a good deal. I do agree with the helping of other members out though, which is why it's obviously stupid to charge retail. also, a lot of people seem to put up an asking price and accept lower than the price they posted. either that or they just say post offers.
