and how much money you got/what will it's main function be/what are you going to be doing while using it/how much vids and song do you have (in GB, not numbers)
iPod Classic 160GB. What else? The new Nano is ugly as heck (IMO), Touch is only 16GB (therefore pointless as an iPod, if you're a music junkie), iPhone... just no.
If you're using it for skiing don't get the ipod classic. They are very fragile and don't work very well in the cold because they use a hard drive instead of flash memory like they use in the nano and the ipod touch.
To sum everything up..
If you're skiing, buy an ipod shuffle.
If you're skiing and you want more memory than a shuffle, buy a nano
If you're not skiing and you have more music than anything else, 80 or 160 gig Ipod
If you wanna surf the web or have more features, get the iTouch
And if you dont want an ipod, buy the new Zune
wait and see what the new zunes might have to offer they might be better. otherwise if you want something for skiing, take a nano, if you want lots of room and ur not going to take it skiing get the classic, if you want internet, and bigger screen, but you cant take it skiing then get the touch. also people might wanna jack your touch.
dude i reccomend checking out the Zen Vision M (made by Creative). its so dope, comes with radio, bigger and brighter screen than an ipod, cheaper than the ipod, way more durable, has a microphone for recording (and it does it damn well). its really easy to use, and there pretty much awsome. ive dropped mine out of my car (not moving) and it only got a tiny little ding ont he bottom of it. check em out, people seem to love them alot.
only downside to that is that you cant use itunes, but you can use windows media player, and the new versions of that are pretty sick! its easy to just transfer all the music you have (you need to convert some if you have your files in ACC though)
I have a hard time going from itunes to other programs. After I lost my Ipod video, I had a creative Zen, and the program was terrible. I ended up breaking the Zen anyways, but IMO I think iTunes is the easiest, best organized, and best interfaced program out there.
get a touch, I have one and love it. It might be interesting when skiing, but since it's flash based it wont break as easy (I've gone through 6 hd ipods)
True, the program that comes with the creative zen is a peice of shit. But the good thing is that you can use Windows media player (and i said that itunes is a positive because literally everybody has it, and may not want to switch to WMP or another program). I dont think that itunes is the best program though, its too constrictive IMO. everything is protected and stuff. i like WMP way more than itunes, plus it plays videos (that you dont have to convert and everything- you may have to for itunes, but im not sure)!
Yeah I agree with you, Itunes does have some restrictions, but at this point, its become so popular, that I hardly need to convert anything. I just like how Itunes has a smaller interface than WMP. But I havent used WMP in a while so things could have changed. The last time I used it, it had songs organized by album and artist, and left huggee blank spots on my library list.
