Hey guys, I think I just got a core shot from hitting a box (summer setup. I'm so pissed because I didn't act abusive. How much is this gonna run me to get it fixed. I'm not sure if its a core shot though......the plastic/base material is gashed all the way to the graphics. How much will this run me at my shop (guess)?

depends on the shop. My shop does it for free. But make sure they dont just put a petex candle on it. it will just come out.

Do it yourself, shops can be very expensive with fixing that.

if your that concerned about your skis i dont see why your hitting a box, in the summer, with skis you care about. theyre clearly going to get recked on any box let alone a summer set up.

I'd take it to a shop. Most have some special shit that when applied, is just as strong as the origional base is. If you try to fill it with a p-tex candle it will fall out eventually. It wont be that expensive, it depends on the size. At my shop we usually charge $5-$10.

yeah probably just petex it. it is a quick fix and you could probably do it yoursel with a stick of the stuff and a lighter.

clean it up with an exacto knofe
yes, knofe, i refuse to fix that spelling error
anyways, make sure to cut some grooves into the wound so that your epoxy or your p tex (or both) will fit into it and junk
and when that doesnt work, youll have to spend alot of money on some new skis...

cut out the shot so it's wider at the base /_\ like that and fill it with p-tex. works liek really gud.

would you not want it smaller at the base so it dosn't pop out?

like, the closer to the core of the ski, the wider you make it. so you melt the p-tex in so it fills it up, and once it hardens it physically can't come out. also rough up the area, obviously.

maybe 20 bucks... if it isnt to the actual core, just use ptex. that shit works miracles
