New 686 Site and Gear

good post. i noticed this a week or so ago but people always shoot me down when i talk about 686. i thought 59/50 just did hats. why would 686 collaborate with them?

I don't care what people say about 686, I have their jackets and pants and they're both great. most of the time no one minds. I wasn't sure how long the site has been up, last I checked was a few weeks ago and it was the old one then today I noticed it was redone. every year they do a times collection where they get together with another company and do a few jackets with that other company and something comes with the jacket. a few years ago they did dragon and last year they did vestal (came w/ a watch) and dakine (came with a backpack). I have the dakine one from last year. now it comes with a 5950 hat, and since people are obsessed with them now.. it will probably sell well. I don't like the times jackets as much this year, but they are still pretty sweet.

i know, i'm a huuuge 686 fan. i have the 686 x dakine olive green jacket with the birds on it from last year. the same one as you i think. and i have the smarty pants which are amazing

i just don't know why they would go with 5950, all the other times they've done times lines it was with a company they could share technical as well as design ideas, with 5950, it'll be the same technical stuff as always from 686(which i have no problem with) and a hat. kinda stupid if you ask me

haha, yeah I just realized you posted in the post your setup thread, we have the same jackets/pants. I understand what you mean about going with 5950, they aren't a snow company like dakine or dragon. but neither is vestal from last year. I was a little disappointed to see it was 5950 but at least that means I won't have to force myself not to buy a new jacket this year. saves me some $$.

^ yeah maybe my money will go to the 14k gold toolbelt. I want! I wish it wasn't real gold so it wouldn't cost $80. I would buy one for $20 though.

hahah i know. i wish it didnt' have all those studs on it, i can't stand studs. if just the buckle was gold that would be sick. which reminds me, i gotta get a new tool belt, mine has seen its better days

I don't mind the studs, it's just the price. but the gold looks sooo cool too. what tool belt do you have and how is it? I was thinking of getting one, either the standard or maybe the checker weave.

ahhh if anybody wants to earn some karma points and find my a place to buy the 686 cranium pant, butter color, xxl, that would be awesome. or actually any light yellow xxl pants or jacket that would be dope too.

dang it looks like the might of had it in xxl but it sold out. yeah i checked all the online dealers on the 686 site, no dice. but thanks for tryin'. if anyone ever runs into some light yellow xxl stuff lemme know!

well i've never owned any 686 gear, i'm 6ft tall and i just assume get xxl because i don't wanna risk getting xl and having it be too small.

an XL will likely be a good size, most of their stuff is pretty baggy.
