Anybody's shins really sensitive?

i got bad shin bang this year and i couldnt ski well the rest of the year.
my shins seem to be really sensitive. for example, my cousin got mad cuz i was cheating at video games, and he threw the controller at my shin. and i realllllly hurt. when i was getting out of the pool, i hit my shin against the steps, and it hurt.
and idk how long this is gonna last, is everyones shins sensitive?

Doug uses these "shintronic" (sp) things and in one of his reviews he said they ruled for shin splints

i know what you mean, shin splints suck and they take a while to go away. rest, ice, tiger balm all are good remedies. i tried the booster straps and i'm pretty sure they made them worse, but i've heard differently from others. one thing that worked really well for me was getting a nice cushy spong (i think they might be called sea sponges? for washing cars and stuff) they're about 8 inches long and 4 inches across. I cut a slit in the middle, almost all the way up, but with an inch to spair, and stuck those in my boots to take the pressure off of my shins. this helped a ton. also, the rolling pin thing does work. i did this pretty hard before skiing as much as i could. i hurts like hell, but it allows the lactic acid (at least that's what i think it's called) to flow through the rest of your legs and body. stretch your calf muscles lot's and do calf raises. it all helps.

i used a combo of booster straps and eliminators in my rampages last year. the best remedy for shin bang, besides to stop landing backseat which is sometimes unavoidable, is to get the cuff of your boots as snug against your shin as you can. in my case, i have really skinny calves so the tongue of the boot didnt wrap my leg well enough, it was basically just hitting right on my shin bone. so i put pads on the outside of the tongue on the sides to bring the sides in more, and added the eliminators and power straps so i could snug everything up really well, and i basically didnt have any problems with shin bang after that. icing your shins definitely helps after a day of skiing as well. i know my boss does the rolling pin thing, but i'd rather not have to resort to that.

i used to have really pussy ass shines. but ever since i have been doing mixed martial arts and doing muay thai striking, my shins are becomming bomb proof.

One thing that helped me is to setup the boot to a more naturally upright stance. This helped by lessening the pressure if I landed backseat.
As for above normal shin pain now. it is possible that you may have hairline fractures on your shins. Might not be a bad idea to go see a doctor about it.

Freeze water in Dixie cups and roll them down your shins after skiing if you already have shin bang.
To prevent shin bang, stop riding in the back seat. You get shin bang when you don't keep forward pressure on your boots.
If you still get shin bang, buy a Booster Strap. They work incredibly well. You can also put lube in a little plastic sandwich bag, fold the bag in half, and stick it between your sock and the boot tongue. That works, too.

you have to start realizing if you've got shin splints or shin bang. if it's a muscular pain around your tibialis anterior (usually procurred from running, jumping, etc) it's a shin splint and should be stretched/iced and rested properly. sometimes shin splints can vary from just inflamation of the muscle or micro tearing (don't be alarmed by the word tearing, it's just means the muscles a little more pissed off). If you wanna start talking about shin bang, you're gerneraly refering to micro stress fractures of the tibia, which again, can be generally treated w/ rest and ice.
when it comes down to it, if your shins hurt rest for a bit, pop your pain killers, and ICE. if you're not doing this then its your own fault for keep going out there. or learn to land jumps. or stop being a pussy and suck it up.

i ski with mine un buckled, well i have krypton pros, so i do up the middle one so my heel stays in the heel cup, then tighten my booster strap and leave the toe and top buckle undone, it works really well

if ur shins hurt while ur skiing, just wrench down on ur top strap and leave the mid buckles loose. It helps

i got this last season and my mama told me to get a small towel and put like a can of soap on it and try and roll up the towel with your toes while sitting down
it is actually kinda hard and it made me pissed off
