I took a trip to duluth a couple days ago and heres what i learned/got out of it...
1. UMD doesnt suck after all
2. seagulls are friendly
3. ships can be fucking huge
4. the town gets ghetto-er the higher up on the hill you are
5. don't jetski on lake superior if its windy
6. if youre into urban, youll love it there
7. minnesota does have hotter chicks than almost any other state
8. everyone is between 15 and 30 years old
9. half the businesses are tattoo and body piercings, the other half are banks
10. cherry coke changed to coca cola cherry
11. the area next to the magically-levitating bridge is sick
12. theres a $50 fine for bringing my dog into the hotel
FUCK that theres nothing wrong with duluth -superior. Id pick living here over minneapolis st paul any day. no rush hour traffic, well maybe a little in duluth, no shootings, well maybe a few in west duluth. haha no but seriously duluth is badass you will be happy going to umd im sure, tons of girlies, good skating, alright skiing by midwest standards. duluth is a sweet town the scenery is pleasing...tower ave in sup is the shit if yoru 21. yeah i like to shoot my guns a lot and fish cant really do that in the middle of town but it evens out. youll do fine there.
yea i deffenatly need to be by everything. the city has everything. duluth doesnt. like i said. i can go to my cabin in duluth in small dosages. cant handle more than a week up there. but i like the people
"hmm i always wanted to be a roflcopter pilot."
not sure what this "everything" is that yur takin bout, but I know Duluth has everything I need, skiing, mountain biking, really cool architecture, great people, decent university, some good shows, places to get food, clothes, and power tools, tons of cool places to swim, nice streets for longboarding, plenty of parking spots, space for animals to live, ect.
The only things Duluth doesnt have is a chance to see every band you want, tons of employment opportunities, a good burito shop, asshole city folk, and dirty air and land for miles on end
Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Seether, & Skillet. Oct 7th Duluth, MN. $33. i think theyre playing on the deck. yeah the beach on the other side of the lift bridge is pretty sweet. its not cold like every other beac in duluth cause it stays shallow for so long. oh and no its because im going to umd
"if all your friends jumped off a clif would you?" -my mom "i would if there was snow on it" -me
also love having to ask the chubby 14 year old girl with no self esteem how much she weighs.
hey, if you dnt wana tell me youre weight, i cant fit you into a real nice snowboard.-Albino
Yeah, like I said, few GOOD bands come to Duluth, but like Steve or someone said, Atmosphere is coming, and I know Mason Jennings and Wilco are coming, so I shouldn't complain too much, but as a rule of thumb, it's good to avoid most bands that play at the deck unless you want some southern pop-emo-rock, like Nickleback, as an example in addition to the ones you listed, came last year.
And Josh, when I went to the Burrito Union last spring it was pretty crappy, especially for the price, but that was like a week after it opened, so maybe they're better now, let me know.
