the fucking customer is the most important person in the industry. without the consumer there would be no industry and without the industry there would be no Dave levin. And with no Dave levin whose ass would everybody on this site kiss? besides harvey of course!
I'd rather take the time to burn every last bridge I've ever crossed beneath the sun than live my life knowing you may one day follow me over one...- Aesop Rock muthafucka
for newschoolers it should be Glenn Plake, didn't he start the whole different than normal bomb through gates to get to the bottom the fastest skiing. I remeber seeing him in miller films when I was in high school huckin cliffs and skiing all kinds of crazy stuff and he had incredible style, he would hit a cliff or bust a move through some rocky shit like it was nothing.

^fuck that bullshit...if you're going to take it way back....then it's whoever started surfing around in some tahitian village hundreds of years ago...or wherever surfing came about...then skateboarding and then snowboarding...which has been the biggest influence on skiing as we all know it

I'm probably not close, but I would say some of the most influential guys have been.... Kieth Carlson, Mike Jaquet, Micah Abrams, Jason Levinthal, Kris Ostness, the Gaffneys, Moseley, McConkey, and Morrison.

As for the most important person in skiing, we'll never know will we? A case could be made for Cusson and his crew, the filmers, McConkey and his posse, snowboarding, skating, and surfing, as well as the shadowy figures that bankroll/finance Armada's operations...

1.two of the best movies
2.the major kick in the ass the industry got from Armada...Armada would not exist if wasnt for Iberg.
3.His influence on events/judging.
4.The exposure he has created for the athletes.
5.His realistic and passionate view of the industry. I live in both the ski and snowboard industry and I can tell you from 15 years of experience Iberg is one of a very few people that honestly cares about whats best for the sport and works everyday to make it better and make sure it is portrayed in the right light to the public.
Anyone out there that thinks Iberg is just a filmer has no idea how deep his influence runs and on how many levels. Filming is the only visible aspect that the public sees.
god damnit, everybody shut up, mudflap is the only one whos got it right. we arent talking about Seth, because he's a huge *influence*, we are talking about who is important because they are running shit!!! do you really think the atheletes run that much shit? NO, just go read Armada's mission statement. that's the reason they started it! because the atheletes had no (zero) power.

I would say to the industry as far as advertising goes Tanner Hall. Oakley could throw him in a pink thong with a little 0 on it, and u would see little 10 year old kids wearing it a few weeks later. But other then that, its definitely a toss up, there are some many contributers to the sport, its tough to say who the most important one is, they all are important
