Comutation of scooter libby

damn straight.
this was an absolutely ridiculous case and bush was right to pardon libby whoes whole accusations were liberal bullshit.
libby said the cia agents name AFTER the press already knew of her name,
the cia agent at the time was still working behind a desk in washington dc,
the most ridicuolous part is that this isn't even what scooter libby was jailed for. he was jailed because 3 years after the incident, the investigator, some trumped up liberal douche, claimed that libby ubstructed justice. this is after the investigator knew that the name had previously been known by the press. this is a retarded fuck up in the system: here libby is 'ubstructing justice' on a case that is a bunch of baloney to begin with. he was "obstructing justice" when he was innocent which just doesnt make sense.
send the case to some liberal shmuck judge who puts him away for 30 months or wahtever.
same thing happened to martha stewart. accused of insider training but with not enough proof, then, she is accused and prooved that she lied or whatever but whats the give aka y the fucks it matter if shes never proven guilty, therefore innocent.
and now, we have the clintons who spoke today about the commute of libby, after bill clinton himself pardons, not commutes 150+ people after he is impeached, many of whom have no given large sums of money to hilary bitchass clintons campagin.

scooter libbey was charged guilty. it doesnt matter what he was charged for, the fact was that he was guilty. this is a clear case of bush bailing out a croney who did what he asked. the outcry is justified; bush is spitting in the faces of the court and saying fuck you to everyone who doesn't think he is god. bush wants to become dictatior. he already has made a signing order allowing him to sieze total power indefinently in the case of a natural disaster or terrorist attack. it may sound like he would never get away with it, but hitler and mussolini came to power within the established frameworks of politics in their countries. bush is on that path. watch out

though, oddly enough, both Hitler and Mussolini were both involved in the socialist party before they went all nutso and fascist.

K, that really wasn't relevant in any way, so take that as your historical tidbit for the day.

This is the biggest piece of flamebait ever :/
Libby CONFIRMED the identity of a field agent, which cost the agent a job, and could cost the agent their life. Yes, the press had the name, the press also knows that aliens are in roswell and that tom cruise shot JFK, the difference is, nobody has stepped out from an official position and CONFIRMED any of those things.
I hope you see the difference~
With clandestine agents their identity is their most closely guarded secret. It's a very serious thing. BUT,
REGARDLESS OF WHETHER IT WAS MORALLY RIGHT,
He was CONVICTED BY HIS PEERS, and legally sentenced in a court of law for violating a legally-binding non-disclosure agreement. Bush has effectively shanghaied the judicial branch, in this case, and many others. The pardon is meant to be reserved for times when in hindsight, the conviction is found to be wrong, or otherwise forgivable, or when the circumstances leading to the conviction otherwise resolve themselves (eg the Whiskey Rebellion).
No new information came about to suggest libby's innocence, so in essence this is nothing more than exercising executive power over the courts. Libby broke the law, in a serious way. The $250,000 fine is a joke, and it's entirely likely that bush or 'The Family' even went so far as to give Libby the cash to pay it. Truly a shame...

For those of you who are upset, just think about the one fate that's worse than death for a president: your own chapter in history books. Libby will just be another hilarious portion of the George W. Bush chapter. You think that Bush is getting away with all of these ridiculous crimes scot-free? Just wait until the history books come out.

It's not hilarious though. It's our country caving to corruption at the very top level. I don't think thats very funny. Hopefully there will be a point where we can all look back and laugh about how shitty our president was, but I think its more realistic that this is the beginning of the end for our empire.

you missed the whole point dumbass.
do u think its reasonable to charge someone for obstructing justice when there is no justice to obstruct because he is innocent

that doesn't make sense. he lied to a grand jury about the crime allegedly commited. It doesn't matter if he was lying about himself or someone else, he made a choice that it was more important to be loyal to Karl Rove than it was to the FBI, and that is illegal. As well as completely immoral. The guy is a scumbag, and 250k is chump change to him. He should be in jail. If you lied to the FBI, you would go to jail. That's whats fair.

The fact that when these books come out and it'll be funny to read about the stupid shit he says. That point was more or less my point. You look at history books now and you can chuckle at the stuff you read. Poor choice of wording, maybe, but I think you get my point.

Ok it would be absolutely pointless to argue with someone as retarded as yourself, because there is no chance any progress would be made. So instead, I'll resort to this: SHUT THE HELL UP, ASS-CLOWN.

damn, way to put together a sentence, eh? let's try that again:
When these books come out, it'll be funny to read about the stupid shit he says. Hilarious, in the original post, was more of a synonym for ridiculous than anything else.

so it's OK to lie under oath when you know you've done nothing wrong? What's the point in lying, then?
