Compression Question

use h.264 compression. i dont use vegas, but my guess is that you'd probably have a setting for .avi, .wmv, or .mov. I would save it as an .avi, if its a bigger size and your trying to compress it a bit more. If you have a choice for broadband high/medium/low, those can affect your video as far as size and what not as well. With final cut i set my videos to h.264, broadband high, 640x360(depending if they're widescreen videos), a step down from best, and .mov, and i've been able to get a 11 min HD VID around 100 megs.

Ya get quicktime pro and it has the h.264 compression in it.I use to have vegas and compressed with that for a while,then I got quicktime pro and my videos compress was a lot better and the quality was better when compressed to.

yea so when i rendered the video I choose the avi, and it still came out to 400 mg.

what is this h.264.
I like filming and editing but youtube and all that compression stuff just scrambles my mind

get quicktime pro. and let us know when you have that, a ton of people will beable to help you from there

yea idk i cant really afford quicktime pro at the monement. So all I really want to do is upload it to youtube. not worried about the quality. any tips?

If you don't care about quality,when you render it out of vegas change the settings of the picture size to like 320 x 240...I think thats the right size most people use.
