yep i tried on krypton rampages today.
i tried on a 26.5 boot. i wear a size 9 shoe, so a 26.5 is equal to an 8.5 shoe size. they were really nice cuz i have narrow feet. the bootfitter sucked though. well when i had the heel strap on all the way tightened it kept my heel ALMOST all the way down. i could lift my heel about 1cm (maybe less) when flexed. im going to a different place tomorrow that will have a 26. does this mean that a 26 is my size??? i wear a size 9 shoe, so a krypton 26 would be a size 8 shoe? any comments please!

Nah, the 26 represents the cm of length. Shoes are fitted diff. New rampages?

no they are the old (past year) rampages
now there are no shops in my area currently carrying the 26. so now its down to the 26.5 or nothing? should i get the 26.5??? remember im a size 9 shoe and a 26.5 is an 8.5 shoe.

maybe just wait until september if you can go without new boots and wait until the new boots show up.

if they're comfortable, get them, nows when you want to buy boots. 26's won't be any smaller, just a little less room.

o and if your heel isn't settling right just ask the bootfitter to throw a heel lift in the shell. of course he should have already done that

one last thing...DIR!!!! half sizes dont matter in ski boots! a 26.5 is ajust a 26 with a thicker piece of foam underneath. take the piece of foam out of a 26 and you got a 26.5

The size of your street shoe doesn't matter in the slightest when choosing ski boots.

i've tried explaining that concept hundreds of times when i sell ski boots. its impossible for normal people to grasp. they just keep telling me their shoes size, when i tell them it doesnt matter they stare at me blankly. i've had guys come in who look like they've been skiing for years saying they want a new boot, then right off the bat they tell me their shoe size and learn just how ignorant they are

yeah this lady (bootfitter) asked me right of the bat what my shoe size was

seriously, call her out and tell her how dumb she is. i've gone to stores competing with the one i work at because they carry different brands and have just given myself a bootfit and told the workers to screw off because they were so dumb

that doesn't make sense, were his regular shoes to big? I wear size 11 shoes and 29 boots.

it could be that his foot was oddly shaped and the giant shoes were the only things that fit his abnormal shaped feet comfortably. but most people don't size their shoes right. almost always will a person wear a shoe that is too large for them. they think that since they have more room their feet will be more comfortable. then they wonder why their feet hurt at the end of the day. and what nomensteven said up their is a common occurence. i've had the same thing happen to myself. except it was an adult, and its much harder to convince a grown mad he's been wearing the wrong size shoes his entire life. especially when its coming out of a 17 year olds mouth

I wear a 13 Adidas and a 28 shell in most boots I've tried on, they're tight at first, but once they pack a bit they're good for not sliding around in, you get so much more control with a snug fit boot.

^thats me. I have the kryptons 27.0 (27.0 and 27.5 are the same shell just a different liner.. probably the same with 26/26.5 etc) and a 11 street shoe.

Being able to lift your heel when you try to means nothing in an out-of-the-box ski boot. If you flex forward and your heel comes up without you deliberately attempting to lift it, then the heel is too big. But that doesn't sound like it's an issue here. Focus on the toe box fit and replace the stock footbeds with superfeet or SOLEs or something and you should be in good shape.
